2022 is shaping up to be a huge year for WWE, with several dream matches potentially on the horizon after Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley was made official. The Beast Incarnate is running the show on RAW and SmackDown, not slowing down since he won the WWE Championship at Day 1.

Lashley isn't the only first-time opponent Lesnar should face this year. Some interesting match-ups await him. Fans have also been hoping to see a few dream matches involving Hall of Famers, some active and some not so much.

A couple of these bouts must happen at WrestleMania. It would only make the show bigger. However, Vince McMahon should book all of them during the next 12 months. Which dream matches do you want to see in WWE this year? Let us know down in the comments.

#6. Brock Lesnar vs. WALTER

With WALTER permanently moving to the United States, he absolutely must join the main roster in 2022. His gimmick and demeanor do not fit in with NXT 2.0's long-term vision, while a couple of dream matches await The Ring General on RAW and SmackDown.

The biggest one may be against Brock Lesnar. The two can have a violent affair, filled with heavy strikes and insane power. Imagine WALTER landing his signature chops on The Beast Incarnate. What a sight it would be.

The former NXT UK Champion is the kind of opponent Lesnar would sell greatly, reminiscent of his excellent work opposite Drew McIntyre. This dream encounter would be perfect for SummerSlam, or the rumored United Kingdom pay-per-view later this year.

#5. WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg vs. Big E

Goldberg currently has one match left on his WWE contract. While he may eventually wrestle more, the Hall of Famer's next match seems like his farewell. It has to come against the right opponent, with no choice better than Big E.

The former WWE Champion is a huge fan of Goldberg, having grown up idolizing the WCW icon. Big E has made it no secret this is his dream match, coining the iconic "big meaty men slapping meat" phrase in the process.

Based on Goldberg's performance against Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel, a match between him and Big E would be an explosive success. It can happen at WrestleMania or one of the Saudi Arabia events this year. Either way, the New Day member is the best choice to retire Goldberg.

#4. Brock Lesnar vs. Riddle

Another potential dream match for Brock Lesnar in WWE this year, a showdown with Riddle would go over nicely with fans. The Beast Incarnate may have previously told The King of Bros that they will never work with each other, but it is too good of an opportunity to let up.

The two former UFC fighters have unique skill sets in the squared circle. Lesnar throws his opponents around, while Riddle is more of a striker. They would mesh perfectly to create a violent masterpiece.

Riddle may receive a big push once his team with Randy Orton is finished, after which a program with Brock Lesnar sounds like a great idea. Let's just hope the two can work out their differences.

#3. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus vs. Sasha Banks

Possibly the biggest dream match between the past and present of women's wrestling, Trish Stratus vs. Sasha Banks. While her last match was in 2019, the WWE Hall of Famer remains in tremendous shape thanks to yoga.

Stratus was excellent during her match against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019, which lends hope towards another one against a Horsewoman. Banks would bring the best out of her, especially when looking back at their confrontation in the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble Match.

If the winner of this year's 30-woman Rumble challenges the SmackDown Women's Champion, Sasha Banks vs. Trish Stratus would be perfect for WrestleMania. It will not disappoint.

#2. Roman Reigns vs. WALTER

WALTER isn't short on dream matches with full-time WWE Superstars, with a clash against Roman Reigns particularly mouth-watering. Like his potential match with Brock Lesnar, The Ring General would do wonders opposite the current Universal Champion.

It would be a hard-hitting marathon, with the two uncompromising on their offense. Reigns would relish a title defense against WALTER, who isn't the worst choice to dethrone The Tribal Chief. Again, the rumored United Kingdom pay-per-view would be a great spot for this match.

Also, with how well Imperium has been booked on NXT recently, a six-man tag team match between the European trio and The Bloodline would go down pretty well. Whether or not he remains Universal Champion, Roman Reigns needs to face WALTER at some point in 2022.

#1. WWE Hall of Famer Edge vs. AJ Styles

WWE has the perfect opportunity to book Edge in the dreamiest of dream matches at WrestleMania 38. He and AJ Styles could have an electric bout, filled with some of the best wrestling all year. The Rated-R Superstar usually does well in long matches with a story.

He can cook one up with The Phenomenal One, who is one of the greatest sellers in WWE history. It may be tricky to figure out a story as both men are babyfaces right now, but one of them can easily turn heel.

Edge is yet to be a full-fledged villain during his in-ring comeback, having briefly flirted with the idea in the build to WrestleMania 37. So, perhaps, we see babyface AJ Styles take on heel Edge. Whatever the alignments are, the match will be epic.
