First ever women's Royal Rumble scheduled for January 2018

Stephanie McMahon dropped a bomb on this week's episode of Monday Night RAW, with the first every Womens' Royal Rumble Match announced for the Royal Rumble PPV scheduled for the coming month.

This is a very exciting time for women in the WWE, and we all agree this is a very positive step in moving forward with the women's' evolution. Happy days for us all indeed!

But who will be the first woman ever to win the Rumble? Let's take a look at the six possible winners.

#6 A returning Nikki Bella

Royal Rumble is the favourite time for wrestlers to make their surprise debuts and returns. Every Rumble has it's customary set of surprises to keep the crowd guessing, and it might just be possible that the surprise takes away the crown. Who could it be?

Nikki Bella can return at the Royal Rumble and win the crown. While this might not be the best thing for women's wrestling, the Bella twins are very much at the top of the company with their Total Divas fan base, and this scenario is not too unlikely.

#5 Debuting Ronda Rousey

The Royal Rumble seems to be the perfect opportunity to finally materialize the much awaited and anticipated WWE debut of former UFC athlete Ronda Rousey. Ronda's debut has now been in the talks for over a year, and the debut seems more than likely to happen at the Rumble, with Ronda undergoing strict training with the likes of Brian Kendrick and Natalya at the WWE Performance Center.

Ronda is already a legitimate star and a lot of fans adore her due to her UFC fame, and a win for the debuting Rousey would push her to the moon, creating a superstar overnight for the WWE. A win for this expected debutante would be great!

#4 Nia Jax

Okay, so the giants typically do not win the Rumble. They are generally toppled over the ring by a horde of opponents to create a memorable moment. But we have a feeling about this one. Nia is a fantastic wrestler, and she recently came off a break from the WWE and seems to be involved in a storyline with Enzo at the moment.

A title run for Nia has been long overdue, and it is very much possible that it comes off a Rumble win followed by a Wrestlemania crowning.

#3 Paige

Paige has all the momentum in the world right now. After returning to the ring after more than a year to a thunderous reception from the crowd, Paige and Absolution have been nothing but dominant so far on RAW. They have been repeatedly beating up major raw names like Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Mickie James.

A win for Paige will cement this run for her, and it is definitely a possibility provided the past doesn't come back to haunt her.

#2 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch has been out for the last few weeks shooting the upcoming movie Marine 6, alongside The Miz and Shawn Michaels. However, Becky was wildly over with the crowd prior to her departure to shoot the movie, and a Royal Rumble win to set up a match against Charlotte Flair for Wrestlemania would be a booking decision we all can be very happy and satisfied with.

Becky is a fantastic wrestler and her strike-fire personality is wildly over the fans, and we see no reason why Lynch taking home the first ever Rumble victory is improbable.

#1 Asuka

Asuka should win the Rumble

Since her debut on the main roster, the Empress of Tomorrow has had a strong footing on Monday Night RAW. She ran through women like the Emma, Dana Brooke, and Alicia Fox. The undefeated NXT-Women's champion has delivered her share of great matches in NXT with the likes of Ember Moon and Nikki Cross. She was also the last standing woman at the Survivor Series match, overcoming a two-on-one disadvantage against the Smackdown Live roster.

Asuka has the skill and the personality to be on top of the women's division in the WWE, and she should absolutely win the Royal Rumble this year.
