6 potential scenarios for Braun Strowman's WWE return

The Monster Among Men has been a crucial aspect of Raw as of late

The Monster Among Men was taken out of his Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble, with the rumors stating that the reason behind his withdrawal from the event wasn't because of his elbow injury, but instead it was apparently because Vince McMahon didn't want Braun Strowman to take another loss to Lesnar, as he has previously lost twice to The Beast already.

If this is the case, then that was clearly a smart decision from the WWE as Strowman is a superstar that needs victories in order to stay true to his character of chaos. Another loss to Lesnar would've damaged Strowman's aura.

But with Strowman being out of the title picture after destroying Vince McMahon's limo, there are many different avenues to take with his return. Here are 5 scenarios in which Strowman can make a successful return.

#6 Tag Team with Lars Sullivan

The truth of the matter is Strowman doesn't need to be in a tag team due to the fact that he is his own man. And we've seen that previously before when he teamed up with Nicholas to defeat The Bar for the Raw Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania 34.

But with Lars Sullivan set to make his arrival onto the main roster, having him in a potential tag team with Strowman would do wonders for both men. Having two specimens teaming up to destroy the Raw tag team division would definitely be interesting for the viewers to see.

And with rumors of Sullivan having issues with anxiety, maybe having someone who is comfortable in the main roster environment like Strowman could possibly do wonders for Sullivan's career in an attempt to boost his confidence.

Most importantly, it could set up as the perfect gateway for a potential rivalry between Strowman and Sullivan, with the two men going their separate ways. It would be a great opportunity to get Sullivan over as a heel by turning on Strowman in the future if the two were to ever team up.

This tag team could even be a brief one, giving Strowman something to do whilst not being in the Universal Championship picture.

When Sullivan debuted on NXT, we saw him team up with various tag team partners before destroying them after each match due to the fact that they would constantly lose. Maybe this could be the storyline they implement for Sullivan on Raw, before he eventually finds the perfect partner in Strowman? It would definitely be an intriguing direction to go in.

#5 A match with Baron Corbin

Strowman and Corbin have been feuding for the last couple of months

Braun Strowman has been involved in a rivalry with Baron Corbin ever since November, and it seems like it isn't going to end anytime soon.

Corbin has been the main reason for many of Strowman's downfalls, such as Crown Jewel 2018, when Corbin nailed Strowman with a pre-match knockout which led to Lesnar successfully defeating Strowman to regain the Universal Championship.

At Survivor Series 2018, we saw Team Raw defeat Team Smackdown in the 5 on 5 Traditional Tag Team Elimination match with Strowman. along with Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre surviving the match. We then witnessed Corbin, McIntyre, and Lashley brutally attack Strowman after that match.

TLC 2018 was the night where Strowman seemed to have gained his revenge against Corbin after multiple Raw superstars came out to hit their finishers on Corbin due to the fact that Strowman was unable to compete in this TLC Match. Strowman then took advantage by covering Corbin as he earned a Universal Championship match against Lesnar at Royal Rumble, whilst stripping Corbin of his power of authority.

Unfortunately for Strowman, Corbin has continued to be a thorn in his side. This was evident on the 14th January 2019 episode of Raw when Strowman was searching for Corbin backstage, and Corbin was hiding in a limousine which Strowman destroyed.

However, the limousine turned out to be Vince McMahon's, which lead to Strowman being fined and removed from the Universal Championship match at Royal Rumble.

The two men clearly have bad blood that needs to be finished, so it would make perfect sense for Strowman to immediately target Corbin in his return so that he can defeat and demolish him to move onto bigger things.

#4 A quest for the Intercontinental Championship

Another way for Strowman to make his return to the WWE could be by possibly targeting the new Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley. Despite the fact that Strowman is ready to win a world title, there is that possibility that WWE may want to build Strowman up a lot more due to the momentum he has lost in the past.

A potential match between Strowman and Lashley would be an interesting bout due to the size of both men. There is no doubt that they are both mammoths when it comes to physicality, and they are both very hard hitting in the ring. And as we've seen before with Roman Reigns, Strowman excels against bigger opponents.

With Strowman being a former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, despite holding the title for just a day, it wouldn't be so bad of an option to have Strowman conquer the mid-card scene before being inserted back into the main event picture. Having Strowman defeat Lashley for the Intercontinental Champion would be a great way to make Strowman red-hot again.

#3 A match with Triple H at Wrestlemania 35

As I previously mentioned earlier in in this article, Strowman destroyed Vince McMahon's limousine on the 14th January which led to Strowman being taken out of his Universal Championship match. When Strowman makes his return, there could be a chance that he can attempt to make life a living hell for The McMahon Family, or vice versa.

Adding Triple H to the mix would make sense due to the fact that Hunter would want to stick up for his father in law. And the two men aren't strangers to each other at all, due to Strowman attacking and threatening Triple H after the 5 on 5 Traditional Tag Team Elimination match at Survivor Series 2017 for double-crossing Kurt Angle.

However, in order for this to happen, we would most likely have to see another heel turn for The McMahon Family, which seems highly unlikely as they seem to be focusing on the superstars that they have. But with Triple H always being in contention for a match at Wrestlemania, going head to head with Strowman would be a fantastic way to put The Monster Among Men over.

#2 Royal Rumble victory to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35

Strowman vs Lesnar would be a Wrestlemania worthy match

Despite the fact that Strowman was written off for Royal Rumble 2019, it hasn't been confirmed that the reasoning was due to Strowman's elbow injury. For all we know, WWE may be tricking us into thinking that Strowman is still injured.

After all, we did see Strowman flip Vince McMahon's limousine over. Of course, he must've received help from technicians backstage, but it still would've taken plenty of strength to flip the entire car over even if he did receive assistance.

There is still that possibility that WWE wants to surprise the WWE Universe by having Braun Strowman's music hit during the 2019 Royal Rumble match, providing a huge pop just like Cena's return at Royal Rumble 2008, before going onto win the Royal Rumble match itself.

With Strowman losing to Brock Lesnar twice for the Universal Championship already, there may be a redemption storyline waiting for The Monster Among Men. Every single time that he has the opportunity to gain the title against Lesnar, he has always come out short whether it's losing the match or losing the title shot itself.

This could be a storyline to generate sympathy for Strowman, due to the fact that he has beaten everybody in the WWE except for Brock Lesnar himself. Despite the rumors that Seth Rollins will win the Royal Rumble 2019 match for a bout against Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35, but we will not know that until the actual Royal Rumble event itself.

The plans are constantly changing in the WWE, and all it takes is one minute for Vince McMahon to eventually decide that he wants Strowman to lead the company as the face. And if Strowman was to ever face Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35, there would be no doubt that he would finally capture the Universal Championship.

#1 A rivalry with Bray Wyatt

Finally, there is one potential scenario that stands out from all the others, and it's the idea of a rivalry for Strowman against Bray Wyatt.

We have seen Wyatt out of action for a while now, and despite his cryptic tweets on Twitter, we still don't know what the plans are for Wyatt's return. However, there is so much history between Wyatt and Strowman that is still untapped in the WWE.

Strowman made his debut in the WWE by aligning himself with Bray Wyatt as he became The Black Sheep of The Wyatt Family. During Strowman's run in the family, it was nothing but absolute dominance as he would make quick work of superstars such as Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

But with the brand extension occurring in 2016, we then saw Strowman be drafted to Raw as Wyatt went to Smackdown. The two men went their separate ways, and nothing was mentioned about it. There is no denying that the war of words that these two would have would be nothing short of excellent.

There are so many possibilities for this rivalry, with Wyatt returning as a heel to target the man that he brought into the WWE. Wyatt could talk about how he brought Strowman into this world, and now it's time for him to take Strowman out of it. It would also give both men a rivalry that is meaningful and personal.
