6 predictions for the non-title matches at WWE TLC 2018

Can TLC become the best pay per view of 2018?
Can TLC become the best pay per view of 2018?

WWE is set to bring us the final pay-per-view before the year comes to a close, and WrestleMania 35 season can officially begin. TLC is set to take place Sunday night in San Jose, California.

TLC has a massive card, with 12 matches, and some matches look like they are going to be great. The build of TLC hasn't been the most exciting one, and fans are only hyped up for a few matches. The WWE will definitely pull out all the stops to make TLC a success.

A lot of rumours are also being spread. According to some of the rumours, multiple championships will change hands at TLC. But as we all know, WWE is known to change plans at the last minute.

TLC is one of the most extreme and entertaining pay per views of the year, and we can be sure that there will be some amazing matches and moments at TLC. The event will definitely play a massive role in how the storylines will progress. Some decisions could even change the course of WWE programming for months.

In this article, I will predict the results of all the non-title matches which will take place at TLC. The predictions are according to the recent booking of the superstars, and the rumours surrounding their futures.

#1 Mahalicia vs The Fabulous Truth

Who will be the winner of the Mixed Match Challenge this year?
Who will be the winner of the Mixed Match Challenge this year?

To say this year's Mixed Match Challenge was cursed would be an understatement. When it started in September, it featured an all-star line-up. However, due to injuries and changes in storylines, most of the teams were broken, and performers were replaced.

The finals of this tournament will feature Mahalicia and The Fabulous Truth. The winners of the Mixed Match Challenge will be awarded the 30th entrant spot in the Royal Rumble matches which will happen next month.

Everyone knows that none of these four performers have any chance of victory at the Rumble, so the stakes involved are meaningless. With the current booking trend, and the investment of the fans in the teams, it looks like 'The Fabulous Truth' will be the winners of MMC season 2.

Prediction: The Fabulous Truth defeats Mahalicia

#2 Elias vs Bobby Lashley (Ladders Match)

This could be the start of Lashley's push
This could be the start of Lashley's push

The match hasn't really had a proper build-up, and the fans are not excited about it. This is one of the most uninteresting storylines created by WWE. And despite Elias's and Lio Rush's best efforts to make this rivalry interesting, the fans aren't hyped up for the match.

A guitar will be suspended above the ring, and the first to climb the ladder and retrieve it will be able to use it as a weapon. This match has little to no stakes, and shouldn't be given much time.

If Lashley is supposed to get a big push sometime in the near future, then it would make sense to give him the win, as a loss isn't going to cause much damage to Elias. Also, with Lio Rush in Bobby Lashley's corner, we should expect some interference, which would cost Elias the match, and make Elias not look weak.

Prediction: Bobby Lashley defeats Elias with the help of Lio Rush

#3 Natalya vs Ruby Riott (Tables Match)

Who will be the winner of this contest?
Who will be the winner of this contest?

This feud seems like it has been going on forever, but at least the feud has had a proper build-up, and fans are somewhat invested in it. The rivalry went on to the next level when Ruby and her partners snapped Natalya's shades, given to her by her late father - Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart.

On this week's episode of Raw, Riott crossed the line when she printed Jim Neidhart on a table and said that she will put Natalya through the table on which Jim Neidhart was printed.

WWE exploited the death of a performer to try and create some interest in this match. It was somewhat successful, but they should really stop using the death of a performer for generating interest in a storyline.

With the current booking trends, and keeping in mind that the Royal Rumble is next month, my prediction is that Natalya will defeat Ruby Riott due to the mistake of Sarah Logan or Liv Morgan, and that will lead to the Riott Squad having an internal feud. The Riott Squad could break up at Royal Rumble, with the members of Riott Squad turning on each other during the Royal Rumble match.

Prediction: Natalya defeats Ruby Riott

#4 Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (Chairs Match)

This will be one of the most interesting matches
This will be one of the most interesting matches

This match has the potential to be the match of the night, as both superstars involved are amazing performers. The build-up of this rivalry was fantastic, and we can be sure that the match will be amazing.

The current run of Orton has been one of the most amazing runs of his career, and his recent sadistic attitude has intrigued the WWE Universe. Many superstars have been the victims of Randy Orton's sadistic manoeuvres. Orton has stretched Jeff Hardy's ears with a screwdriver, he viciously attacked Tye Dillinger's fingers, and terrified a technician since embracing his darker side.

On the other hand, Rey Mysterio has been a top babyface since his return, and has been booked strongly. Even at the age of 44, Mysterio performs astonishing high flying moves, and always delivers a good match.

This match is really difficult to predict, as both superstars are heavily protected and immensely talented, but Randy Orton's sadistic attitude might give him an advantage in a chairs match. My prediction is that Orton will win this match.

Prediction: Orton defeats Mysterio

#5 Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin (TLC Match)

Will Corbin be able to save his authority?
Will Corbin be able to save his authority?

This match has a lot of stakes. If Strowman defeats Corbin, he will earn a shot at the Universal title, and at the same time Corbin will lose all his authority, but if Corbin defeats Strowman, he will become the permanent general manager of Monday Night Raw.

This match has Strowman's win written all over it. Strowman has got the edge when it comes to size and strength, and the stipulation favours him as well.

But it is not certain this match will happen, as Strowman is currently injured, and according to some reports, he might not compete in the match. If he does not compete, a replacement could be possibly brought forward, and he will fight Corbin in place of Strowman.

If Strowman is allowed to compete, we will be getting a new General Manager on Raw certainly.

Prediction: Strowman defeats Corbin

#6 Drew McIntyre vs Finn Balor

The Scottish Psychopath could destroy Balor
The Scottish Psychopath could destroy Balor

Drew McIntyre has been on quite a run since returning to WWE. He had an amazing run in NXT, as he competed in some of the best matches in NXT history, and even became the NXT Champion.

Finn Balor has got some spotlight in recent times as well, due to the fact that Raw's top babyfaces are out via injury or illness. He has giving amazing performances consistently, every week on Raw.

McIntyre has thrashed Balor around a lot in the last few weeks. Earlier he did so by teaming up with Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley, and on this week's edition of Raw, he himself went after Balor, attacking Balor viciously.

WWE will most likely not allow McIntyre take a pin from Balor after they have worked so hard to make Drew look like a beast. McIntyre will pick up a clean victory over Balor, and this will help The Scottish Psychopath boost his credibility.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre defeats Finn Balor
