Huberboy rose to stardom when he won the tag team championship in both NXT and WWE's main roster. He had been a part of WWE main roster since 2013, but it was not until 2014 that he met the Chairman. At that time, he and Erick Rowan were involved in an unforgettable rivalry with The Usos over the Tag Team titles.

Recalling the time when he first met Vince, he told on Talk Is Jericho, “My first real one was, we started doing the Uso feud like maybe a year into our thing. And I don’t know if it was the two out of three falls match or the one before at Money In The Bank, where we killed it. And we came to the back and he stood up and he hugged each one of us and he goes, ‘You go to that locker room and you tell these motherf*****s to follow that!’”

I went by the WWE booth and he was standing out in front with a suit on, shaking hands I was The Giant in WCW and I walked by and introduced myself, but Vince knew who I was already.
