WWE has one of the most passionate fanbases in sports entertainment. They fill out arenas and stadiums, while the internet wrestling community has made their presence felt in many ways, including the recent backlash for R-Truth's release.
It was later reversed, and Ron Killings returned with a vengeance. But which current stars are the most hated by the WWE Universe? Let's look at six names that get booed out of the building and criticized on social media.
#6 and #5. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day
The New Day did one of the most despicable things in recent WWE history last December when they kicked out Big E. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston appeared to be headed toward a fight, but they decided to bond together and hate on their injured former member and friend.
While the booking of The New Day has not been the best, they continue to do great work on television and social media as heels. They remain despised and get a lot of boos from the live audience. Being picky about who to defend their World Tag Team Championship against helps them earn more hate.
#4. Charlotte Flair
It's not Charlotte Flair's fault that the majority of fans are not supporting her despite coming back from a devastating knee injury. Flair has always been better as a heel, so getting booed is not new to her.
However, trying to be a face and still getting jeered is not a pretty sight. She deserves the flowers for what she has done in her career and for recovering from a career-threatening injury. It's on the creative for trying to push her as a babyface when fans don't clearly see her as a sympathetic character.
#3. John Cena
John Cena is still a heel and is out to ruin wrestling for every fan. His heel turn in February was one of the most shocking moments in WWE history. He gets booed for his actions, and fans couldn't get enough of Ron Killings attacking him several times.
Cena is currently hated because that's what he wanted as part of his farewell tour. He's expected to become a babyface sooner rather than later and end his in-ring career as the beloved character we have all come to know. His booking as a bad guy has been quite inconsistent, but it's all about creating memories.
#2. Logan Paul
Fans and fellow WWE Superstars have praised Logan Paul for picking up wrestling as quickly as anyone. He's a natural in the ring and could be a world champion if he went full-time.
However, Paul's history and overall character makes him one of the most hated members of the WWE family on television and social media. He takes it up a notch on screen and has been booed out of the building before. His cocky attitude makes him easier to hate, though it's hard to argue his appeal for the younger generation.
#1. The Rock is the most hated WWE Superstar at the moment
There's no denying that The Rock is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. However, some of the decisions over the past two years have been incredibly frustrating, though allowing Cody Rhodes to finish his story was the best of the lot.
Just when fans thought The Final Boss wouldn't be returning, he facilitated John Cena's heel turn, only for WWE to completely ignore his role in it. His absence at WrestleMania 41 made more fans angry, and they hated him for ruining the Road to WrestleMania.
The rumored conflict between him and Triple H doesn't help, since the company is much better with them working together.
