6 WWE Superstars who need to turn heel in 2018

Reigns should definitely turn heel, this year
Reigns should definitely turn heel this year.

Babyfaces are naturally the most popular superstars in the WWE Universe, but sometimes it doesn't fit the character of many wrestlers. Superstars who've turned heel in the past have performed extremely well and have become popular among fans, despite their negative alignment.

These are the top six wrestlers who should turn heel in 2018 and could only benefit from the major change.

#1 Roman Reigns

Roman+Heel turn= Perfect recipe
Roman + heel turn = perfect recipe

Who will disagree to this?

Vince McMahon wants Roman Reigns to become the next face of WWE. The former is searching for a replacement for Cena which is considered next to impossible. However, the WWE Universe has grown a resentment towards Reigns due to the immense push he is receiving. The Shield Reunion has brought him back to the limelight, but this doesn't seem to last longer as it's clearly visible that WWE wants to push him as a singles star. Reigns main-eventing Wrestlemania 34 against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship is a hot rumor and it would not work well for a babyface Reigns.

Reigns's recent feud with Cena proved his lack of mic skills; he received a backlash from fans and critics alike for his promos where he tried to defame Cena. After the feud, it had been noticed that there was an improvement in his mic skills.

Reigns needs to turn heel or else the crowd will boo him out of the arena. In 2018, turning heel should top his bucket list.

#2 Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks heel turn is much needed
A Sasha Banks heel turn is much needed.

Sasha Banks desperately needs a heel turn in this part of her career. During the Divas' revolution, Sasha Banks entered the Raw roster as a heel. When she was in NXT, she was a top heel and she did an amazing job as a heel character, which made the WWE Universe love her.

Initially, her run as a babyface on the main roster was very entertaining; her Falls Count Anywhere match with Charlotte was amazing. WWE then stopped pushing her and now she is treated like an upper mid card player on the women’s roster and after the debut of Absolution she is treated like an underdog.

The crowd used to go wild during her entrance but they seem to have lost the interest they had earlier. Sasha needs to turn heel so that she regains the top spot she is deserving of.

#3 Randy Orton

Born heel: The Viper
Born heel: The Viper

Let's accept the fact that Randy Orton is a born heel. He knows it better but it seems that WWE is not ready to accept the fact. They have been wasting him as a babyface since his return, and he is also getting tired of being one.

In an Edge and Christian podcast, he had clearly mentioned that he is dying for a heel turn, and who can deny the fact that Orton's heel turn is what Smackdown Live needs right now. From 2006-2010, his heel run was amazing, and without a doubt the Viper's bad guy character was very much loved by the Universe. "RKO outta nowhere" is tailor made for a heel and not for a babyface.

With Orton more motivated as a heel, WWE should consider the idea of turning him to a heel soon.

#4 Bayley

Hug-o-nomics is'nt working anymore
Hug-o-nomics isn't working anymore.

Bayley was a huge success in NXT. Her initial run in Raw was very much appreciated, but lately her character has become stale. Her character is hugely famous among the children and women, but she needs to garner the attention of other members of the WWE Universe. Her hug-o-nomics isn't currently working in WWE. It's not that Bayley isn't an accomplished wrestler; her matches against Asuka, Becky Lynch and Charlotte were amazing in NXT, and her match with Sasha Banks at Takeover:Brooklyn was one of the finest in WWE history.

NXT viewership is much smaller than Raw or Smackdown and some wrestlers do tend to perform better on the smaller stage. Her run as a heel might be entertaining; she can show her frustration of not being accepted in RAW since her debut.

Bayley's character is getting stale, and she definitely needs a push for her character to grow.

#5 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrpse return plan?
A new Dean Ambrose return plan?

Dean Ambrose is one of WWE's biggest workhorses. He has been working continuously for the past many years without any breaks (excluding the recent injury), but he isn't taken seriously by the masses. He is not getting the push other babyfaces like Roman Reigns or AJ Styles are receiving. His run as The Lunatic Fringe is fun and entertaining, but isn't highly regarded.

Oddly enough, though, he is yet to perform as a heel after the Shield breakup in 2014, so we haven't seen the bad side of the Lunatic Fringe yet. Ambrose is at his best when he's exactly that, a lunatic, but for some strange reason, WWE has developed him into a slapstick comedy guy who will never be the top guy.

WWE should take the chance and turn Ambrose heel. It could be very interesting.

#6 Seth Rollins

King slayer needs a heel turn
The Kingslayer needs a heel turn.

Seth Rollins heel turn in 2014 was groundbreaking. He won the United States Championship and WWE Championship together, making him the first superstar to do so. He achieved a lot during his epic heel run, but then he suffered an injury and his career changed. He overcame his injury in quick speed and his return was glorious. The crowd in the arena went insane regardless of whether he was a heel or not. His return feud with Triple H quickly turned him into a babyface.

Since then, he has lost his edge; he is an amazing wrestler and there is no denying that, but the heel character definitely suited him better. The Shield reunion has helped his character a little, but everyone knows it is not going to last long, and he needs to turn heel to keep up the momentum. His turn can be against Reigns at Wrestlemania 34, which could be very unexpected. He is more comfortable as a heel, and his potential feud with Reigns will be very welcomed by the fans.
