#4. Velveteen Dream
We'll admit that this is a situation that could go either way. We've learned by now that success in NXT doesn't always translate to success on the main roster. Velveteen Dream is the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion so far and has been a consistent presence in the brand's main event scene.
One of the things that the 24-year old Velveteen Dream has going for him is the fact that he's a homegrown talent for WWE. He's been one of the biggest success stories from Tough Enough and he didn't even win the competition.
He's been treated as a big deal in NXT and has caught the attention of Superstars like John Cena and Edge, both of whom stated their desire to face him. While there's a risk of Vince McMahon not "getting" his character and dubbing him as an enhancement talent early on, the fact that he's a more character-based wrestler (with incredible in-ring talent) could see him on the receiving end of a big push in the future.
