#1 Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston

A convincing end to a decade-old rivalry?
A convincing end to a decade-old rivalry?

‘The Viper’ was adamant to prove to the world that Kofi Kingston is unworthy of his WWE Championship. The two locked horns at Clash of Champions in an attempt to put their ten-year-old rivalry to an end.

However, it did not meet the expectations of the WWE Universe who were waiting for this feud to find a deserving conclusion. Other than a few good spots, the match was slow. It was only Orton’s infamous RKO that had the crowd cheer in the entire duration of the match.

Defeating Randy Orton could have been one of the highest points in Kingston’s historic title reign. It had a perfect backstory, convincing build-up and most importantly, had their emotions fuelling the narration.

However, on Sunday, it appeared that these two individuals were just two WWE Superstars who were feuding for the sake of booking. Their match on SmackDown Live this week had more charisma which forces me to wonder the potential that remained unexplored at Clash of Champions.
