WWE will stop at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey on Sunday, April 7, 2019 to present the biggest extravaganza in pro-wrestling, WrestleMania.

As WWE does every year, it'll try its best to make the event memorable for its fans. However, the last few months have been difficult for Vince McMahon and his company. Not only is the company's 'Big Dog' Roman Reigns battling leukemia, but also Dean Ambrose has decided to leave. On the other hand, The Undertaker has started to take bookings outside the WWE, and the COO Triple H has been healing an injury himself.

Still, WWE has the talent to build a strong show and please all its fans who will tune-in to watch the product. Here, we present seven storylines that WWE should not miss to present on the road to the big show.

#6 Asuka’s redemption

WWE's Asuka
WWE's Asuka

Asuka’s return to relevance has been one of the most promising developments in the WWE recently. It had started to appear that Asuka had been lost in a crowded division, and her fans had started to wonder if she would ever be the same again. The mystique and the streak that ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ lost at WrestleMania 34 seemed to have taken all the aura and the ‘it’ factor she once had.

However, things changed instantaneously when Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch to win the SmackDown’s Women’s Championship at WWE's TLC, last fall. Then she provided another show-stealing performance to out-do WWE’s hottest act, Becky Lynch, at the Royal Rumble in January.

Asuka's rise has been great, and has been well appreciated by the fans. Therefore, WWE shouldn't drop the ball here. Asuka has true potential to be a big star. So, the star's story of redemption should continue and be an integral part of the 'Road to WrestleMania'.

Furthermore, who should be her opponent? The answer is Charlotte Flair. The Queen was the one to end the longest streak in pro-wrestling. She took away a lot from Asuka, and 'The Empress' should be hungry for vengeance.

Both Charlotte and Asuka are top-tier performers, and Charlotte is an unbelievable act on the microphone. So, this feud will have a great opportunity to steal the limelight and give the fans a rivalry to remember for a long time.

It has been reported that Charlotte will probably make her entry into the 'main-event' feud, rivaling Lynch and Rousey. Yet, Vince McMahon should still book the Empress’ story of redemption against 'The Queen' Charlotte Flair.

#5 Drew McIntyre’s desire to take away John Cena’s legacy

McIntyre slams Cena
McIntyre slams Cena

Earlier, rumors had surfaced that John Cena will feud with Lars Sullivan on the Road to WrestleMania. But with Sullivan's absence from the WWE after his reported anxiety attacks, that idea has probably been scrapped. Now, it has been speculated that Cena may not appear in WWE up until WrestleMania. Basically, that'd mean that Cena won't be involved in any big storyline leading up to the event.

However, the legend, if his schedule permits, should be a big part of the 'Road to WrestleMania 35'. Moreover, Cena should face an opponent who allegedly cost his participation in the Royal Rumble match - Drew McIntyre.

Both the men are great athletes, and they have multiple stories they could choose to tell. They can tell a strong story as realistic as 'The Future' wanting to step over 'the Past and Present.'

Since, both these stars have excellent promo and wrestling skills, this has all the potential to be a stellar rivalry. Besides being a treat for the fans, the Champ will put over McIntyre in a really big way. And, it'd be a deserving reward to McIntyre, who has been ‘money’ since his comeback to WWE.

#4 Beasts from the East

Once bitter enemies are now together
Once bitter enemies are now together

Breaking News: Rusev has turned heel again after a short stint as a face. WWWE probably didn’t see him over as a face, but whatever the case may be, if the plan is to let Nakamura and Rusev work together, it may not be the worst thing for these two super-talented athletes and the tag-division in WWE.

It'd not be harsh to say that WWE's tag-division has gone stale recently. And, the superstars have been vocal about their unhappiness about the way Vince McMahon's treats the tag-division.

Now, there have been rumors floating around that The Usos may choose to not renew their contracts with Vince McMahon's organization. It must be disheartening for Vince since The Revival had also allegedly requested a release earlier this year. And Rowan has entered into an alliance with Daniel Bryan, so it’s clear that the team of The Bludgeon Brothers won’t be back as well.

WWE needs good teams. And, a team of these two superstars could be a solution.

Rusev and Nakamura could help build the division again, and reinvigorate things. They certainly have the talent to succeed. But, they will need the management to help them realize their potential.

In brief, these two brutal artists can display an art of the most lethal form both inside and outside the ring. And, if WWE gives them a sustained opportunity and a manager in Aiden English, they could be an incredibly entertaining part of the WWE product in the immediate future.

#3 United States of Truth

R-Truth surprised everyone by winning the United-States Championship on the first SmackDown after the Royal Rumble. He not only won the title by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura, but also defeated Rusev to retain the title in the next match of the night.

While not exactly at the level of Chris Jericho defeating Steve Austin and The Rock on the same night, it was a great surprise to see Truth get these wins over two popular stars.

Now, WWE should be smart to not pass on the title to someone else in a hurry. Truth could have a very entertaining path to New Jersey. The company should present his will to stay as the United States Champion, mixing it with the right dose of silliness and emotion.

The veteran may well be having his last title reign in WWE. And, Truth is an extremely lovable character, enjoying great popularity. So, WWE should be smart to tell this emotional story of either a great entertainer's final hurrah or a goodbye.

#2 The Monster in Rousey

Rousey has been pushed as a face since joining WWE
Rousey has been pushed as a face since joining WWE

Ronda Rousey will be in the main-event of WrestleMania 35. In fact, she is one of the main reasons why women could main-event WWE's biggest show in 2019. Yet, she is not the hottest act in her match. More specifically, the hero of this contest is 'The Man' Becky Lynch.

Specifically, the time has arrived when Rousey should unleash the 'baddest' version of herself. The reasons are simple: firstly, Vince needs to accept that Rousey will not be cheered over Becky Lynch. Even The Rock may not be cheered over Becky at the moment.

Rousey has also witnessed it the hard way at RAW after Rumble, where Rousey couldn’t complete a promo because of the fans fiercely chanting to see Becky Lynch.

Secondly, Rousey has been in WWE for a year now, but she still looks awkward in her Cena-like promos. It has been very apparent that Rousey is at her best when she demonstrates anger.

She looks more comfortable on the microphone when she speaks ‘not so nice’ things, and is presented as a dangerous fighter. Therefore, it is the time to unleash the monster hidden within Ronda Rousey.

Whether, it’s just Lynch, or both Lynch and Charlotte at WrestleMania, Rousey certainly needs to unleash the ‘Baddest woman in the Planet’. It'll make her more compelling, and it'll make this big feud one of the best in the history of the organization..

#1 The world's best swerve ever

Shane McMahon and Miz
Shane McMahon and Miz

The 'Miz and McMahon' story and their tag-team has an inevitable conclusion: a clash at WrestleMania 35. Fans have long been expectantly waiting for The Miz to turn on his tag-team partner. However, what if Shane McMahon turned against his partner? It will certainly be 'must-see'.

Yes, The Miz is the best heel in the modern era, and McMahon is a pure face. Yet, it's refreshing and more compelling if Miz stayed as the face and McMahon turned heel.

Shane turning heel could be a difficult story to tell, but it'd get the attention of wrestling fans. And, WWE can build up reasons for Shane McMahon's heel turn. He might not have a reason to turn against the WWE Universe now, but he'd have a reason if Vince McMahon got involved in the feud.

If Vince appeared to give props to The Miz, and if he gave Miz the respect that Shane McMahon has always wanted, it'd give enough reasons to have Shane turn on his partner. After all, jealousy and ego are venomous. Similarly, there are numerous possible stories to sensibly bring out Shane's dark-side.

It'd be compelling to have Shane tell his story, and why he is not like The Miz, whose father appeared on live television to express his feelings for his son. On the other hand, Shane O' Mac has jumped off cliffs and cells. He has been slammed through windows. And, he has put on some of the most breathtaking moments in wrestling, still he still lacks that respect from his father.

Shane throwing it all away for his desire to destroy The Miz, a former WWE champion, at WrestleMania is a story that needs to be told on the 'Road to WrestleMania'.
