Countless fan-favourite Superstars completed their shocking heel turns.
Heel and Face turns are quite common in Professional Wrestling. In order to keep the characters and story-lines fresh, changes are required constantly. Because of this, several fan-favourite Superstars turn heel. On the other hand, a number of heel Superstars also turn to the good side. This changes the dynamics of various feuds and opens the door to a lot of new possibilities.
This year, however, the heel turns we got were quite shocking. Some of the most shocking heel turns this year were of Becky Lynch, Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan. Lynch was one of the most lovable baby-faces. However having her turn heel, followed by a change in character to make her an anti-hero has really worked well for "The Man". Dean Ambrose, on the other hand, has always worked well as a heel so a turn was definitely needed. Daniel Bryan's heel turn came out of absolutely nowhere. There was no tease, no signs of it and everything happened within a span of two hours. Regardless, it was truly a shocking heel turn that nobody saw coming and Bryan has been playing the heel very effectively so far.

Ali Siddiqui is a listicle and feature writer for Sportskeeda Wrestling since 2018. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, he decided to write for Sportskeeda Wrestling after learning about it through a friend. He briefly worked for The Sportster as well.
Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
When he is not doing research for his articles on Google or catching up with the latest in pro wrestling, Ali can be found honing his Data Science and AI skills as he strives to get back into tech in the near future.
