Cena’s dog tags are part of his overall uniform to the ring, but it holds dear value to him. At first, he started wearing the tags after filming “The Marine”. It was a salute to the military; something Cena takes very seriously.
In a wwe.com interview, Cena said that there was a deeper meaning behind it, but didn’t reveal that tidbit. Cena later said in another interview the dog tags have the names of his family members on them.
