Royal Rumble is one of the biggest events of WWE, and it has a considerable significance. The road to WrestleMania starts at Royal Rumble. It is the first PPV of the year, and it is scheduled to be held in Pheonix, Arizona on 27th January 2019.

Royal Rumble has a rich history, and it started in 1988. The most exciting part of the event is the battle royal match which is a traditional 30-man match. The participants enter the ring at a regular interval, and they try to eliminate each other from the ring. The last surviving participant becomes the winner of the match. As a result, the winner gets an opportunity to headline Wrestlemania.

Nevertheless, it was a 40-man Royal Rumble match in 2011. The Greatest Royal Rumble was held in Saudi Arabia last year, and it was a 50-man match. WWE made history last year when the company introduced the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match. The current SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka won the match. Hence, two Royal Rumble matches will take place this year.

Several elite superstars won the Royal Rumble match in the history of WWE. But some superstars won it more than once. Here we discuss seven such superstars who won Royal Rumble match multiple times.

#7 Shawn Michaels ( 1995, 1996)

Shawn Micheals is regarded as one of the best in-ring performers in the WWE history. Michaels retired after he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI. However, he broke retirement at Crown Jewel where teamed up with Triple H in a tag team match. He is capable of competing at Wrestlemania 35.

Shawn Michales is a two-time Royal Rumble winner. Michaels made his WWE debut in 1988 and he had a long career. He won the Royal Rumble match in 1995 and got a title shot against Diesel at WrestleMania XI.

As a matter of fact, Michales won two consecutive Royal Rumble matches when he was victorious in 1996. As a result, he main-evented Wrestlemania XII where he beat Bret Hart.
