8 shocking decisions WWE could make at WrestleMania 35

What could go down at the event?
What could go down at the event?

After every lacklustre showing from Monday Night Raw during the build-up to WrestleMania, fans always looked forward to SmackDown Live, as the creative team over in the blue brand knew how to get fans hyped up for WrestleMania 35.

And it is safe to say that every episode of SmackDown Live was leaps and bounds better than what we saw on Raw over the last few weeks, as the blue brand's creative team have done an exceptional job in the last few weeks in building up a respectable amount of A Grade narratives that have captivated fans.

While SmackDown Live set up many swerves for WrestleMania with their great booking of feuds from Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan to AJ Styles and Randy Orton colliding at the event, Raw has shown some potential to create compelling twists for the show.

With Vince McMahon's consistent involvement in the narratives of the blue brand and flagship show over the last few weeks, one could expect many shocking decisions to be made on the show. So, let us go through some of those potential decisions that could happen at the show of shows.

#1 Reigns Stop McIntyre's Monster Run

The man that no one runs through at WrestleMania.
The man that no one runs through at WrestleMania.

The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns has been the most straight forward narrative WWE has produced on the road to WrestleMania, as this is a simple story about two superstars fighting over the top spot on Raw.

McIntyre has been an absolute force of nature that has steamrolled through every superstar that has walked in his way, and it seems like WWE could be giving McIntyre the main event push he clearly deserves.

It will be a real shocker if McIntyre fails to conquer Reigns at WrestleMania, as WWE would undo all of their hard work in building up McIntyre as an unstoppable force. But Roman Reigns is a different animal, and whoever comes up against him at WrestleMania loses.

#2 Asuka Makes Her Mark

It's about time Asuka demands respect.
It's about time Asuka demands respect.

On SmackDown Live a few weeks ago Asuka was robbed of her Women's Title by Charlotte Flair, as Flair was handed it by WWE due to the company wanting to make the main event of WrestleMania a winner takes all match where the Raw and SmackDown Live Women's Titles are both on the line.

WWE booked this Women's Title feud with many twists and turns along the way, and the biggest shocker might still be on the way, as the possibility of Asuka interfering in the main event is quite probable. The motivations line up, the actions make sense, and the aftermath would be insanely profitable for WWE.

#3 Corbin Ends Angle's Career

A scene no one wants to see.
A scene no one wants to see.

Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin at WrestleMania is a fantasy bookers worst nightmare, as Corbin is the last person a wrestling fan would choose to end Kurt Angle's legendary career, however, this is a fact that the WWE Universe might have to accept.

Even with rumors that John Cena could return at WrestleMania and face Angle instead of Corbin, WWE could end up surprising us all. It is no secret that WWE slightly favours Corbin, as the man has been involved in the biggest narratives in the last few months, but even with the possibility of Corbin retiring Angle being extremely high, it would still feel shocking to witness it live.

#4 The Face Paint Has No Effect

WWE is unpredictable when it comes to Balor.
WWE is unpredictable when it comes to Balor.

At WrestleMania, we will see Finn Balor bring back his extremely popular alter ego to face Bobby Lashley for the IC Title once again. This is a match no one asked for, as these two superstars have faced each other numerous times in the last few months, and many wrestling fans strongly feel that this match doesn't deserve a platform like WrestleMania.

Let us be honest here, the only reason why WWE even bothered placing Balor in a match at the event is due to them wanting them to use his lucrative gimmick. So, as far fetched as this might sound, imagine Lashley beating Balor in his ultimate form, WWE clearly values Lashley as a top heel, and Balor has been on the end of some terrible booking.

#5 Miz Gets Schooled

He is the best in the world after all.
He is the best in the world after all.

As much as WWE fans feel that Miz should be in a better match at WrestleMania, one can't deny that his war with Shane McMahon is high profile, as WWE has given Shane better preference than some of their biggest stars in the last few years, and that is perfect for a superstar like Miz.

This rivalry between these former tag team partners started off as a boring soap opera, but over time it developed into a highly emotional storyline that has seen the Miz fight for his father's honor, and it will be a total shocker if Miz loses this war. Shane winning feels highly unlikely, but if WWE wants to build up Shane as a tyrant, this will be the way to do so.

#6 Mysterio Gets Replaced

Next time Rey.
Next time Rey.

The US Title match at WrestleMania will see Samoa Joe take on Rey Mysterio, but after WWE had announced that Mysterio had sprained his ankle, his participation at the event is in doubt. WWE has built up this small angle in such a manner that if you analyze it, you will end up with ambiguous answers, as many predict that this angle was booked for the sole purpose of Mysterio being given the role of the ultimate underdog once again.

Therefore, it would be shocking if WWE decides to replace Rey with someone like John Cena, as rumours surrounding Cena's involvement in the show have speculated that Cena will replace Baron Corbin and face Kurt Angle in his retirement match. Hence, it would be surprising if WWE were to shuffle their plans and have Cena face Samoa Joe instead.

#7 Kofi Becomes The WWE Champion

Kofi climbs the mountain.
Kofi climbs the mountain.

Who would have thought that in their wildest dreams that Kofi Kingston would be in WWE Title match at WrestleMania? As Kofi went from a midcarder to main eventer in less than a few weeks, and that was a wild wind of a ride.

Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston is one of the best narratives going into WrestleMania, as everything surrounding Kingston's motivations, Daniel Bryan's extremely well laid out objectives and Vince McMahon's autocratic involvement all point to Kofi possibly winning the WWE Title. That statement is shocking in itself, and it is something that we might see happen at WrestleMania.

#8 Dean Interferes

This could be the biggest swerve of the past decade.
This could be the biggest swerve of the past decade.

Everyone knows that Dean Ambrose is on his way out of the WWE, as his refusal to renew his contract means that he will leave the company in April this year, but no one knows for sure whether Dean is truly done with the company, as the speculation never seems to go away when it comes to Ambrose.

So, the most shocking thing WWE can have Ambrose do before leaving the company is something that could truly rejuvenate his career, and that is to betray his Shield brethren on the biggest stage in wrestling.

From Roman Reigns' war with Drew McIntyre to Seth Rollins facing Brock Lesnar in the biggest match of his career, WWE has two interesting possible options to make, either have Dean destroy Reigns or cost Rollins his World Title. Whichever WWE possibly chooses, Ambrose doing something at WrestleMania is a shock in itself.
