This week's episode of AEW Dynamite came off the back of news that WWE's NXT show had beaten Dynamite in the ratings for the second week in a row. This meant that many of the wrestlers in AEW knew that they had to step up their game and that seemingly included firing shots at WWE.

There were a number of interesting storyline developments this week that included Chris Jericho's match against Jungle Boy on the final episode of Dynamite in 2019 and a Texas Street Fight that will take place next week between The Young Bucks and Proud and Powerful.

Despite the fact that AEW was a solid show again this week, they felt the need to fire shots at their rivals rather than keeping their heads down and pushing forward, allowing the fans to choose who the best show really is.

#3 The Britt Baker Challenge?

AEW parodied WWE this week on Dynamite

Britt Baker was spotted at NXT Takeover: War Games last weekend supporting her boyfriend Adam Cole as he took part in a brutal War Games match and her reaction was then shown when he was put through a table to end the match.

This week on Dynamite, for some unknown reason Britt Baker was in the crowd during Nyla Rose's match against Leva Bates, and after The Native Beast put Bates and the referee through a table, Britt's reaction was a carbon copy of War Games before one of the commentators stated "That's Adam Cole's Girlfriend."

It was an obvious shot at WWE because Baker was made part of NXT last weekend but there was no reason for this, why was Baker in the crowd and why didn't she pick a fight with Nyla Rose for her actions against Bates and the referee?

#2 Now Cross Rhodes is being botched on two channels

Cody Rhodes came out to address the fact that he was attacked by The Butcher, The Blade, and The Bunny last week on AEW and decided to fire shots at both MJF and WWE whilst cutting the promo.

The former WWE star claimed that his finishing move that was made famous as Cross Rhodes during his time in WWE was now being botched on two channels since MJF obviously used it as his finisher last week to send a message to his former friend.

MJF definitely botched the move in the finals of the Diamond Dozen last week but Rhodes was also firing shots at Damien Priest, who uses the move as part of his arsenal now as well but managed to botch it as part of last week's stacked shows relating to WWE.

Rhodes actual comments stated: "Or whether it was that you do the worst Cross Rhodes in all of wrestling, at least they're botching it on two channels now." His comments from last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, referring to MJF can be seen below.

#1 Get out of 2016

Chris Jericho also took center stage this week as Le Champion introduced The Lexicon of Le Champion which was the list of all of the stars he refused to face in AEW as part of his final match of 2019.

The AEW World Champion Chris Jericho talked about the fact that he had been forced to defend his title contractually one more time in 2019 before The Jurassic Express made their way to the ring and it was revealed that despite being 0-8 in all competitions, Jungle Boy would be the one challenging for the title next week.

As part of the beginning of the segment, Jericho brought out the list and the crowd cheered since at one point Jericho was known in WWE for having The List of Jericho. It's obvious that the knew the crowd would react this way, but still commented: "Seriously, Get out of 2016 this is not The List any longer it is the Lexicon of Le Champion."

Jericho has become known for firing shots at the company throughout his time in AEW, so this one is pretty tame by his standards.
