Shortly after Cody Rhodes became the AEW TNT Champion on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, the man cut one of the most passionate promos of his career. Every word was brimming with sincerity and honestly and it was one of the more emotionally charged and serious moments on AEW Dynamite, a show we all love but let's face it...also a show that can become a tad goofy at times.

Babyface Cody is still alive and well and his promo was just as fiery as usual to tonight. Next week on the anniversary episode of #AEWDynamite, he will defend the TNT title against Orange Cassidy
It just seemed like when Orange Cassidy stepped in as Cody Rhodes' next challenger on AEW Dynamite, much of the magic of the moment was lost. There's no doubt at all that the match for the AEW TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite next week will be a good one but at the same time, one can't help but wonder if Cody Rhodes needed a more serious dance partner, maybe someone like Sammy Guevara or Ricky Starks. That said, whenever you have the time, do check out the video we put together, celebrating the career of Chris Jericho.
