Kris Statlander made her Dynamite debut tonight as she teamed up with Hikaru Shida to take on Bea Priestley and Emi Sakura.
Sakura and Priestly attacked their opponents before the bell had a chance to ring. The heels took control early on but Statlander wasn't kept down for long, using her size and strength to maximum advantage.
Shida came in on the hot tag and took out Sakura at ringside. The action continued in the ring and Shida showed fans why she's the #1 contender. Statlander, for her part, looked like a fantastic addition to the All Elite Wrestling women's division. Statlander came close to winning the match, sending Sakura face-first into the mat from an electric chair position. Statlander then hit a scissors kick for a nearfall before following it up with a Michinoku Driver. The ensuing count was broken up by Priestly.
As the referee had his back turned at this point, Sakura hit Statlander with the mic stand she comes down to the ring with before pinning her.
