Cody made his long-awaited return to the ring at tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite where he took on Matt Nicks who was making his Dynamite debut. Cody made short work of his opponent, hitting him with a Springboard Stunner early before making him tap out to the Figure 4 Leglock.

Butcher and Blade assault Cody on their AEW debut
Cody took the mic after the match and called out MJF, saying they didn't have to wait to get their hands on each other if that's what he wanted. As Cody was speaking, we saw someone cut a hole in the canvas and come out from under the ring. It turned out to be Blade who immediately attacked Cody. He was followed out by Butcher and the duo hit Cody with a nasty looking double team maneuver.
Butcher and Blade were now followed out by their manager, the woman who's seemingly brought them together to AEW, Allie. Allie was referred to as 'the Bunny' by commentatory so this could be her new persona and it could have been Brandi Rhodes' attacked who instigated all this. We will have to wait till next week's episode of AEW Dynamite to find out more.
