AEW Fyter Fest 2019: 5 Possible finishes for The Elite vs. The Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid

The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega return to a familiar trope that they used in both New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor - teaming together in six-man action. All three members of The Elite are exciting in their own rights, but when they team together, it immediately raises the stakes of their matches.

The Lucha Brothers fell to the Bucks at Double or Nothing, but at AAA's Verano de Escandalo, Penta El Zero M and Fenix successfully recaptured the AAA Tag Team Titles. While the belts are not on the line this time, the feud continues and the match should be an exciting affair.

This will also be a match featuring three of the company's Executive Vice Presidents. Since they are know to have a role in the company and actively promote that fact, it would be feasible that someone interferes in order to 'stick it' to the members of the Elite now that they have power in the company. Here are five possible finishes for their match at Fyter Fest.

#5 The Lucha Brothers pick up a dirty win

The first appearance in AEW by the Lucha Bros. involved them attacking the Young Bucks.
The first appearance in AEW by the Lucha Bros. involved them attacking the Young Bucks.

Other than reading stories and news on the internet about the encounters both teams have with each other, I'm not 100% sure which team is supposed to be the good guys and which ones are the heels.

Both have acted as each during their careers, but Omega was the face in his match with Chris Jericho.

Both teams have also attacked each other at various points in their ongoing feud, so it might just be a pairing of two completely popular teams. Whoever you root for is the face team and the other team is the heels.

Since the lines are blurred until they have weekly interactions on their television show, anything is possible.

The Lucha Brothers could resort to some dirty tactics in order to pick up another win in the feud. The Bucks lost the last encounter and it would make sense for them to try to cheat and win.

But we also haven't seen the 'Breaker of Bones' version of Pentagon from Lucha Underground.

He was violent and relentless and wouldn't hesitate to hurt or injure anyone, from announcers to commentators. His brother and Laredo Kid might pull out all the stops, including some underhanded tactics like a low blow, in order to pick up another win.

#4 The Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid win clean

The Lucha trio could gain some more momentum with a win at Fyter Fest.
The Lucha trio could gain some more momentum with a win at Fyter Fest.

One thing that hasn't been clearly defined between the Young Bucks and the Lucha Brothers is which team is heels and which set of brothers are the faces. If they aren't defining that on purpose, then it doesn't matter as long as people are cheering for the match.

If a team wins clean, it is a sign of adherence to the rules and sportsmanship. Two of the most believable outcomes for this match are having one of the trios picking up a victory by winning clean.

When feuds go on longer than just one match, it often forces both sides to up their games. Sometimes it also forces one of the sides to resort to something dirty in order to gain an upper hand.

But until the sides are defined so as how to receive them when not feuding with each other, the best bet is a either the Lucha Brothers picking up a good, clean win or the same for the opposition.

Both teams are so popular that it might not be important for a clear good side and bad side to be established, like when Seth Rollins and AJ Styles squared off recently.

#3 A third faction interferes and makes the bout a no-contest

The Dark Order made their presence felt at Double or Nothing.
The Dark Order made their presence felt at Double or Nothing.

Something that is totally possible is that a third party or group of wrestlers interferes at some point in the match. If this is the last bout on the card, a newly established faction like the Dark Order could feasibly make their presence felt by attacking both sides.

The teams are both loved by the audience, so instead of having to route for one side or the other, a third party could force the two opponents to work together.

During a recent episode of 'Being the Elite', the Dark Order literally called out all of the tag teams in AEW and put them on notice.

It's something that dangerous and/or overlooked teams often due in order to gain respect. If AEW wants them to be a group to be taken seriously, their interference in this match would help get them over more as dangerous heels.

It appears that the Dark Order will be acting as a dangerous heel faction as evidenced by their actions at Double or Nothing.

They attacked both Best Friends and the duo of Angelico and Jack Evans. Another way to make a huge statement (and perhaps get a match at Fight for the Fallen) could be to attack Laredo Kid and the Lucha Brothers and the Elite teams, thus causing a no-contest.

#2 Someone interferes to help Lucha Brothers' team win

Jericho pulled out of the event, but could he show up to wreak havoc anyways?
Jericho pulled out of the event, but could he show up to wreak havoc anyways?

A notable storyline that came out as more information came out about Fyter Fest was that Chris Jericho refused to take part. He criticized management for giving the show away for free and also for causing an unsafe working environment.

It might have been because he's oversees competing in New Japan, or it could have been a way for him to show up and cause havoc anyways.

Jericho is being positioned as one of the top heels in the company so a plausible situation could be the icon showing up to either directly or indirectly help the Lucha Brothers pick up a win.

The jury is still out as to if the members of the Elite being Executive VPs in the company will factor into storylines.

Since they are known to have backstage influence, Jericho or another heel could interrupt the match and attack the Bucks or Omega in a way of fighting management.

Jericho has taken his heelery to another level in both NJPW and in AEW briefly, so even though he pulled out of the show, he could certainly show up.

#1 The Elite picks up a clean win

Could one of the best trios in the world return to their collective winning ways?
Could one of the best trios in the world return to their collective winning ways?

The most sensible outcome for this match would be for one of the teams to pick up a clean win. The rivalry has spanned several shows across several promotions. The Bucks actually showed up at an indy show in order to offer the Lucha Bros contracts.

At Double or Nothing, the Young Bucks kept their AAA Tag Team Titles but the Lucha Brothers recaptured the belts in their next match under the AAA banner.

With this match technically taking place under AEW's banner, it would make perfect sense for Kenny Omega and the Bucks to pick up the win after what many are expecting to be an insane match.

The three men are among the best wrestlers in the world, and when they are in a match together, that fact is further cemented with every set of tandem moves.

Omega lost to Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing, so it would be hard to have him lose his first two matches in AEW. It could be the start of a good storyline, however, but having the three members of The Elite get their hands raised is a good bet.
