WWE RAW was set to see a United States Championship match as Humberto Carrillo was going to face AJ Styles for the title. However, AJ Styles was not going to let that happen. The OC attacked Humberto Carrillo from behind before the match could even start and despite him trying his best, Gallows and Anderson were far too much for him.

However, Styles would still have to defend his title and after a Fatal Fourway to determine a new contender, there would soon be a new United States Champion on WWE RAW.

Four new challengers for AJ Styles' United States title on RAW

Humberto Carrillo was out, but there were a few others who had something to say about the United States title. Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, and Randy Orton, all made their way out to the ring in order to challenge for the WWE United States Championship.

AJ Styles was having none of it and declined each challenge from the Superstars, saying that none of them had done anything to deserve a title shot. Instead, the four men had a Fatal Fourway match to determine the No.1 Contender for the WWE United States title.

The four men battled with each of them getting some action in, and Orton and MyInctyre even worked together at points in the match to take out the more high-flying Superstars. In the end, with The OC attacking Randy Orton mid-way, it was Rey Mysterio who was the last man standing after having pinned Ricochet.

Rey Mysterio faced AJ Styles in a match for the United States title immediately after qualifying. While The OC tried to interfere repeatedly, they were ejected from ringside by the referee.

However, when Rey hit the 619, AJ fell on the referee, who was knocked out. Gallows and Anderson used that as a distraction to come back and try to take out Rey. Orton came out for the save, having been attacked by them during the Fatal Fourway.

Rey hit AJ with another 619, which Orton bolstered with an RKO. The referee came to consciousness at the perfect time as Mysterio hit the Frog Splash and pinned AJ Styles to become the new United States Champion.
