Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles are headed for a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash at the Castle. The rivals will clash in an 'I Quit' Match to settle the score, or so you would expect. It's implausible that The American Nightmare will be saying I quit unless a massive curveball is thrown his way.
Brandi Rhodes hasn't been on WWE TV properly since her husband's return to the company in 2022. She has appeared sporadically during entrances and his post-WrestleMania XL main event celebration.
The 40-year-old has been fine watching Cody make history from home. That could be a problem for the Rhodes family as AJ Styles is desperate to win the world title.
This could lead The Phenomenal One to go down a dark path to try and force the champion to quit at Clash at the Castle. He's again aligned with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and the trio could be up to no good at Cody's expense.
AJ Styles uses Brandi Rhodes to taunt Cody Rhodes into saying I quit at WWE Clash at the Castle
AJ Styles could sadistically use Brandi Rhodes as bait to get Cody Rhodes to say I quit shockingly. The O.C. could be busy either invading the Rhodes' home or with the former ring announcer backstage while Styles is battling with her husband.
The Face that Runs the Place is running out of ideas to restart Cody Rhodes' story. He wants the world title and made it clear to SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis that he's 'running out of time.'
That desperation could lead to him doing whatever it takes to take the title from Cody. He's already faked a retirement to get himself back into the title equation, and using the champion's wife could be his next course of action.
Brandi Rhodes poked the bear when reacting to The O.C.'s failure to deal with Cody
The O.C. and Cody Rhodes got into things on this week's episode of WWE SmackDown. The stable couldn't get the better of the two-time Royal Rumble winner in the build-up to the I Quit match being confirmed.
In response, Brandi trolled AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson on X/Twitter. She wrote:
"AJ Styles hangin with the wrong crowd. 3 of them boys and they couldn't fight one dude? Time to get a new crew my mom friends woulda all been down."
This might not go well with The O.C., but they may want to teach Brandi a lesson. Their other stable member, Michin, is away on NXT business and unlikely to get involved, given she's a babyface.
They may need to take matters into their own hands, and using her to get to Cody could lead to him quitting in Glasgow.
Cody and AJ could finish their war at SummerSlam
Cody and AJ put on a stellar main event at WWE Backlash: France. The American Nightmare won, but both were excellent in one of the best matches of the year.
Fans clamored for a rematch, and they got one with the duo set to lock horns in an 'I Quit' Match. That might not be the end of their feud, though, as a best-of-three series might be the perfect way to conclude their storyline.
WWE SummerSlam may be the destination for their war to be settled with perhaps another daunting stipulation. A Hell in a Cell match sounds good, especially if The O.C. opts to get personal using Brandi.
