Backstage news on Sting and his advertised appearance on WWE RAW

Sting may be off TV for a while

Further to the news of Sting’s injury sustained at WWE Night of Champions, it is reportedly not a broken neck. Wrestling Observer radio reports that Sting was taken to the hospital following Night of Champions, when he was able to walk but wasn't doing too well. An MRI was done which didn’t show any fractures to the neck of Sting.

Various reports indicated that there were serious talks of a possible spinal injury, however the prognosis isn’t confirmed yet. Sting may have wrestled his last match, at least for a while as the WWE would be concerned about having him back in the ring anytime. As we saw, he was not at RAW last night as he was away in Dallas where he was resting and recovering.

Though WWE had announced him kicking off RAW, that turned out to be not true and it could have been a result of some miscommunication as around the same time as WWE made that announcement, TMZ had reported that Sting had been flown to Dallas to rest up. The announcement by the WWE was only up for a bit before it was taken down and as seen on the show, it was the Wyatts who opened the show and Sting did not appear.

It was also noted by the Wrestling Observer Radio that the finish that happened with Sting vs Seth Rollins for the WWE world heavyweight title was the planned finish but they just went to it sooner than planned due to Sting getting injured. With Sting not being booked for Hell in a Cell, his future is up in the air right now.
