Because those in the WWE SmackDown roster were given the day off to spend Christmas with their friends and families, this week's edition of the show was taped. And because of this, a lot of people knew the big spoiler, with Big E long before the show aired. One has to wonder if this will impact the WWE SmackDown viewership negatively when the numbers come out for this special edition.

They book Roman strong but when jey comes and constantly interferes in his matches it make him look weak . It’s getting annoying with the constant interferences and it’s gana get way worse with jimmy returns

One has to wonder if this surprise should have been kept for a live show at some point down the line so that the WWE SmackDown audience could have enjoyed the big moment with Big E as it happened.

The main reason why WWE SmackDown and RAW have been able to bag such big numbers for so many years is because of a feeling of 'anything could happen', thanks to the live format. It was a fantastic show from start to finish but could have been better had it been a non-taped show.
