At the Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair defeats Asuka. To protect Asuka's character, Shayna Baszler would assist in the match while the referee is distracted in order for Charlotte to win. This would set the stage for Charlotte's WWE WrestleMania match. At this time, Charlotte still may need to get more heat in order for her to receive more jeers leading to WrestleMania.

This could actually occur at the WWE Royal Rumble. While Baszler is attacking Asuka following their match, Flair could push off Baszler, creating the illusion that she is going to help Asuka. However, Flair attacks Asuka with Baszler, turning into an even more menacing heel. This would allow Charlotte to elicit the necessary heat needed to make a babyface shine even brighter during a feud with her. Asuka could try to gain retribution by approaching Charlotte, but Baszler would step in the way, leaving Asuka no other choice but to focus solely on Baszler.

This would happen on RAW after the Royal Rumble. While Charlotte is cutting a heel promo, Asuka comes out furious and storming to the ring, ready to take out Charlotte, but she gets blindsided by Baszler. Baszler would attack Asuka, doing the arm stomp move, which would sideline her for a number of weeks. When Asuka returns, she is now solely focused on Baszler, which would lead to a match at WWE WrestleMania.
