4 Audacious predictions for Clash Of Champions 2017

This is the last PPV of 2017
This is the last PPV of 2017

WWE Clash of Champions, in fairness, has quite an underwhelming card on the surface. After a star-filled Survivor Series that crammed in all possible talent both past and present COC will have to pull out some creative - and unpredictable - rabbits from the hat so it goes down in the history books as a great event, and not just the C Level PPV it currently appears to be.

Can the show off stand tall, even if just for one night?

Well, well, well.. the story of Dolph Ziggler seems to be the same vicious cycle.. rumour circulate that his contract is running out and he will be leaving, then creative seem to dangle a carrot he keeps biting in the form of a Title Shot/Short title reign with a quick blowoff, last time these rumours went around he Semi Main Evented Summerslam against Dean Ambrose for the WWE title in a forgettable encounter and eventually won the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz only to lose it a few weeks later on Smackdown..

With a show desperately needing the shock factor and WWE probably wanting to keep their resident NXT gatekeeper they may be tempted to have Ziggler steal this one only for Bobby Roode to win the title at the next PPV, this would also allow Baron Corbyn to move onto AJ Styles who will be in need of a new challenger after the Jinder experiment finally concludes.

Will Clash Of Champions be Rusev Day?

Machka!
Machka!

Who would have thought that the wacky combination of Rusev and Aiden English would become one of the most entertaining teams on Smackdown Live? Not this writer but something about this odd pairing works, as it sometimes does (Booker T and Goldust anyone?)

What better way to capitalise on this success than to let them take the ball and run with it, up until them losing clean to the New day a few weeks back I thought that Gable and Benjamin were on a one way route to gold but perhaps creative has a different plan heading towards Wrestlemania as Gable vs. Benjamin could be a preshow stopper (sorry Ryback). Whichever route they go down, this is sure to be a great match and could potentially steal the show.

Will the Singh Brothers be traded in for a newer model?

Could we be seeing Rama & Raftar this Sunday?

Firstly, this writer thinks it is paramount that AJ Styles retains his title and heads into Wrestlemania for a showdown with Shinsuke Nakamura and that he is not forced to drop it just before like he did last year to Bray Wyatt (yes he was WWE Champion!)

However, if the Jinder Mahal experiment is reignited so they can have the American Hero Vs Foreign Heel match against Cena at 'Mania they will need to be creative as we have already seen the Singh Brothers shenanigans and The Great Khali help out the modern day Maharaja and frankly the same ending is getting boring. Step in Jeet Rama & Kishan Raftar.

The seeds have already been planted for The Singh Brothers to leave Jinders side with him seemingly being fed up with their numerous failings, what better way to give him heat and work this split than for him to unceremoniously dump them before the match and have the new - arguably better in-ring - team of Rama and Raftar out to screw AJ and gift Jinder the title, after a good showing on WWE's tour of India it's very possible!

Another first for the Women of WWE?

A women's Royal Rumble match would be epic, who would your winner be?

One thing about Charlotte and Natalya is that they can always be relied on to have a great match as their chemistry and backstory is second to none, but how will the lumberjacks feature? Well they will probably do their usual and there will be lots of tension between the Riott Squad and former welcoming committee, however, I think it is what happens after the match which is important.

So picture it, Charlotte retains after a hard fought battle to be knocked out by Natalya when Carmella jumps in the ring ready to cash in in front of the whole women's division, the Riott Squad then stops the attempt before the bell rings, before you know it the entire women's division is having a free for all in the ring until one diva is left standing, what better way to unofficially/tease the first women's Royal Rumble match and plant the seeds? Sound off below on who your winner would be if the Rumble did happen?

Whatever happens on December 17th there are bound to be some twists and turns on the road to the Royal Rumble so sound off below and let us know what you think creative could throw at us to improve this otherwise lacklustre looking show!
