WWE releases and reinstates Emma within hours

WWE Diva Emma was released by the WWE

Couple of days ago, the internet was abuzz with the news of Emma getting arrested merely hours before this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW kicked off. The following report found its way on the internet regarding the incident.

WWE superstar Emma, whose real name is Tenille Averil Dashwood, was arrested and charged with sixth-degree larceny Monday afternoon in Hartford, Connecticut.

It was reported that Emma, whose real name is Tenille Dashwood, stole an iPad Mini case from a Walmart outlet. It was later revealed that Emma didn’t do it on purpose, but simply forgot to pay for it while checking out. She was arrested at around 1 PM, but was released an hour later, and was ordered to go ahead with one day of community service as her punishment. Emma played down the incident on Twitter, and made it look like it wasn’t a big deal.

Just a few hours ago however, WWE’s website revealed that they have released the starlet, with the following statement.

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Emma as of today, July 2, 2014. WWE wishes Emma the best in all her future endeavors.”

This was surprising, given the fact that it wasn’t a big deal, as Emma was released just an hour later from custody on Monday. There have been many superstars in the past who committed serious crimes, but were let off with a suspension and a warning. Emma was one of the breakout stars from NXT, and was brought to the main roster earlier this year. She had many memorable matches against the former NXT and WWE Divas champion, Paige.

In a surprising turn of events, WWE then reinstated Emma after just a few hours of releasing her. WWE reevaluated the events that landed the diva in hot waters, and decided to change their decision of firing Emma. WWE had released the following statement:

"Upon further evaluation, WWE has reinstated (Emma) but will take appropriate punitive action for her violation of the law."

This surely breaks every record of WWE ever firing and rehiring someone, as Emma was fired from the sports entertainment organization earlier in the day. It will be interesting to see how WWE utilizes Emma going forward.
