Brock Lesnar set for WWE Raw return next week

Lesnar will return to Monday night Raw next week

After an eventful period in MMA, a fan favourite and former WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, is set to return to his favourite hunting ground. The 39-year-old was Number 8 overall in last week's WWE drafts and will now feature on Raw next week after WWE announced his participation on Monday night's episode.

Lesnar recently won his high profile UFC 200 fight against Mark Hunt and proved that he is still on top of his game. However, his win was marred by a failed drug test. It was the Beast Incarnate's highly anticipated return to UFC after a gap of five years. Despite the issue of the failed drug test, he will not be fined by UFC nor will he have his record breaking pay touched.

His return to Raw is exciting for the fans and it could also prove to be a very important decision for his career now that his MMA career is in the limbo. The USADA can take actions against Lesnar for the failed drug test which could end in suspension from competing in MMA.

Earlier, WWE announced that Lesnar will be participating in the SummerSlam on August 21 and his opponent will be none other than Randy Orton. Orton is a 12 time World Champion and the fight between the two big guns is one to watch out for.

Although the news of Lesnar's return has been confirmed, there is no news on the future of his advocate Paul Heyman. Heyman's contract with WWE was up and he was not drafted to either brand or attached to Lesnar. But when Lesnar takes centre stage, Heyman has to be there or the excitement level won't be the same. One can hope that a deal to bring him back will be worked out before next week's Raw.
