5 things we should expect from Brock Lesnar vs Big Show at Royal Rumble 2014

The twist

The twist

None of the WWE fans would’ve forgotten the way Brock Lesnar and Big Show made the squared circle collapse almost a decade back. And after all those years of going in different paths, the two men are going to lock horns again at Royal Rumble.

Many didn’t expect Lesnar to re-ignite the feud with Show when he returned and crossed paths with Mark Henry. A match between Henry and Lesnar seemed to be well set before the creative decided to throw in a big surprise.

Show out of nowhere become relevant in the company as he became the guy who throwed Brock Lesnar around. For a man who was been shuttled between main event and midcard, being pitted against a top name like Lesnar was clearly a boost. Though Lesnar’s agenda is the unified championship, for now the he has drawn the battle lines against Big Show which will culminate at the Royal Rumble. So here is a look at the things that can be expected from the feud.

The Buildup- The hate magnet called Paul Heyman

Verbal treat

Verbal treat

Apart from the evil wrestling genius who created Extreme Championship Wrestling, Heyman is also known for his ability to make the fans boo him. The pairing of Heyman and Lesnar might arguably be the one of the best decisions that the creative did in the past few years.

The verbal power of Heyman coupled with Lesnar’s in ring domination is a powerful combination and one can’t imagine how stale Lesnar would look if he didn’t have Heyman on his side.

The most valuable non wrestler in the company last year, Heyman is going to be the guy responsible to make the feud more heat with his microphone skills and letting the wrestler have a solid foundation to work on.

The Buildup – Big Show getting the upper hand on occasions

The short momentum

The short momentum

The first of this list happened last week on Raw as Show just swirled the beast around the mat. Expect more of this so that the creative could show that Big Show is actually a credible opponent for Lesnar. This is an important factor as the giant comes into the feud with minimal momentum.

Knocking out Heyman or getting a punch on Lesnar would be a great buildup for the match. Lesnar is unlikely to cause more problems as he has already broken Mark Henry’s arm. Show will be the savior of some more wrestlers and the WWE will go any extent to make him look as a menace to the former UFC star. Show is limelight bound in the buildup and it will be actually good to see him dominating in a buildup after all what went down.

The Match- Brock Lesnar’s domination

Bone Breaker

Bone Breaker

Lesnar doesn’t fight for free and when we work he doesn’t go down in a squash match. To sum up the match in one line- it’s just going to be an extended squash match with a top name as the jobber.

Lesnar is going to pull back everything Big Show will do in the buildup and Show will be made to look like Spike Dudley with Lesnar’s raw power and athleticism. The purpose of this match is solely to give Lesnar some great momentum ahead of his title feud.

So expect the Beast to dominate the match from go while Show will attract all the sympathy for being destroyed. There is going to be no mercy at Royal Rumble so look out for Lesnar’s destruction of Show while Heyman shout out the instructions from the sidelines.

The Result – Final nail in Big Show’s coffin

The final nail

The final nail

Big Show has been involved with the professional Wrestling business for almost two decades now and the sad fact is that a veteran like him has been used in an ill manner by the creative throughout his career.

The wastage peaked recently, as Show first went against the Authority, then was dropped down to the tag division for a couple of weeks before disappearing from their too. The Lesnar feud is bound to help pick up his status in the short term but the chance of Show winning the match is less than Stone Cold giving up on beer.

Show will probably get his arm broken by Lesnar which will be the ultimate burial of the giant. The match will take out Show for some time so that the company could repackage him in time of WrestleMania. But for now, the future doesn’t seem bright for Big Show as he is sure to get buried.

The Aftermath- Lesnar’s title Chase

Ready for the chase

Ready for the chase

Yes, the whole point of the feud was just to act as a buildup to this baby. And thankfully, the creative did a good thing by announcing it early than making a weird surprise.

Lesnar’s chase of the title will start at the Royal Rumble itself after he is done with the burial of Big Show. Show will be taken out of television for some time giving Lesnar a clear path to the title. The Beast will waste no time in going after the winner of Randy Orton- John Cena match, so a post-match stare down or attack is clearly on the cards.

To sum it up, after the Rumble winner, Lesnar is going to be the biggest achiever at Royal Rumble this year when he shoves of Big Show in a squash match and then goes after the unified title to end his desire.
