What's the story?

We're two weeks away from the Mixed Match Challenge and now we're starting to learn which Superstars will be teaming together in mixed-tag-teams for the tournament, with the latest announcement being the pairing of the 'Glorious' Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair

In case you didn't know...

The WWE have now revealed the partners for both of their women's champions now that Charlotte Flair has been announced to team up with Bobby Roode. Only one other team has been announced and that's the fairly imposing team of Braun Strowman and RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss

The heart of the matter

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan made the announcement to Bobby Roode who seemed thrilled to learn that his partner would be current SmackDown LIVE Women's Champion Charlotte Flair.

Charlotte Flair was also quick to react on Social Media also expressing her happiness at the two Superstars being paired together for the Mixed Match Challenge. Unlike Bliss and Braun, this was a pairing that both Superstars had been campaigning for since the MMC was announced, and it seems they got what they wanted.

What's next?

We'll get to see Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode teaming up together on January 16th when the Mixed Match Challenge debuts on Facebook Watch immediately after SmackDown LIVE has gone off the air.

The pair has got to be in with a good chance at winning the tournament but will have to get past the formidable pairing of Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman, as well as whichever other teams are announced in the next two weeks.

Author's take

So far, so good for the Mixed Match Challenge. I'm happy with both of the teams announced so far and I can't wait to see them actually in action. As much as I love the pairing of #GloriousFlair, I have to say that Braun and Bliss are my early favourites to win the whole thing.
