What's next for Luke Harper?

Luke Harper, along with Erick Rowan, managed to forge a rather dominating tag team together last year. They arrived as the Bludgeon Brothers and won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. After a 135-day reign which ended on the SmackDown after SummerSlam, the two men were sidelined by injuries. Harper underwent surgery on his wrist during the time.

While Rowan managed to return to our screens and aligned with Daniel Bryan, Harper stayed off them and reports suggested that Vince wasn’t too happy with his work. After a few one-off appearances this year, on April 16, Harper requested his release from WWE, as he had yet to appear on weekly television. His request was denied by Vince McMahon and WWE.

Even though it seemed like WWE would keep Harper on the sidelines and soon write him out of the company's storylines, it was a pleasant surprise to see him return and help his former teammate pick up the victory over Roman Reigns.

Whether this marks the return of the Bludgeon Brothers, or whether Harper will be Rowan’s new henchman remains to be seen, but Harper surely made a few headlines with his return at Clash of Champions.
