Clicks-n-Kicks: Best of WWE Superstars Instagram posts from Survivor Series & War Games

<p>

Houston, Texas was the centre stage for one of the years biggest weekends in professional wrestling as The Toyota Center played host to this year's Survivor Series weekend.

Not only did the 2017 WWE Survivor Series take place inside this venue, but the men and women of The Yellow Brand held their own for NXT Takeover: WAR GAMES, which also culminated from the very same arena.

Plus, once the smoke cleared from the back-to-back pay-per-view events, RAW and Smackdown Live also called Houston's Toyota Center home for this week's shows. Needless to say, Houston was the place to be for the WWE Universe and for all fans in and around the Texas Gulf Coast region.

As some of you may know by now, each week we search the Instagram accounts of WWE Superstars, both past, and present, looking for that particular week's best social media content.

With that said, week, we searched specifically for content related to this past weekend's NXT, as well as WWE main roster action.

We hope you enjoy and have a very happy Holiday Season!

#13 Waiting for WAR!

In the weeks leading up to NXT Takeover: WAR GAMES, SAnitY member Nikki Cross made a strong case for herself, as far as being a legit candidate for the next NXT Women's Champion. Unfortunately for Nikki, she came up just a little short.

However, she proved to her opponents, as well as the NXT Universe that she is certainly deserving of being in the conversation for future title opportunities.

#12 Two fists...one dream....one lifetime of memories

The whole James Ellsworth story is not only intriguing but inspiring to a degree. James came along for what was originally supposed to be a one-off enhancement performance... but we all know how that story unfolded.

Thanks for the memories, Ellsworth.

#11 Declaration of WAR!

It seems like yesterday that Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish invaded NXT, but now armed with their leader, fellow ROH alumni Adam Cole, the trio has a new identity and a new mission... total control.

The Undisputed Era is made up of three of the most talented in-ring performers to sign a WWE contract in recent memory and if the current direction remains, these guys could do some damage that rivals something The Shield would try to do.

#10 Not-so-cheap seats

It was an exciting few days for wrestling fans in and around the Houston metro area. Not only did NXT Takeover: WAR GAMES, as well as Survivor Series, take place at the Toyota Center, but both RAW and Smackdown Live took place inside of the same venue also.

One of the perks available for fans that purchase premium tickets at pay-per-view events are the limited edition seats, which fans are allowed to take them home at the end of the show.

#9 Upper advantage

Sheamus is one of the most recognisable of all WWE Superstars. With his pale skin complexion and unmistakable mohawk, the Celtic Warrior is certainly a one-of-a-kind athlete, who has always marched to the beat of his own drum.

Alongside Cesaro, Sheamus has risen to the top of the tag team ranks as the current WWE RAW Tag Team Champions.

#8 Lana Crush!

"The Ravishing Russian" Lana posted this awesome shot featuring the lovely ladies of Team Smackdown Live. Despite having a strong team, Team Blue was unable to come out on top asTeam RAW came away with the victory.

Team Red was led by team captain Alicia Fox. Alicia teamed up with Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka and Nia Jax.

#7 Open cage, release animals

The major talk of the night for NXT Takeover: WAR GAMES, centred around the match for which the namesake of the event was brought about.

The War Games match featured The Authors of Pain, along with Roderick Strong took on The Undisputed Era and the madmen known as SAnitY, led by Eric Young.

#6 Showstopper

The stars aligned for what was a near-perfect night of action at NXT Takeover: WAR GAMES. One of the biggest stories of the night was the unbelievable performance of both Aleister Black and Velveteen Dream.

For 15 minutes, Black and Dream went back-and-forth in what this writer considers the best match of the evening. Even though the match eventually faded to Black, there was really no losers in this incredible bout.

#5 Weekend Warrior

Once upon a time, people mocked and laughed at the idea or rumours of Adam Cole making the jump to WWE. Look who's laughing now...

Not only did WWE sign Adam Cole, but they also managed to land the two members of reDRagon, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O'Reilly. Together, this group of "indie darlings" unite to make up what is now known by the NXT Universe as The Undisputed Era.

#4 The new face of Women's wrestling

Ember Moon has battled the odds, faced multiple setbacks and has been all but counted out.

Some fans never even gave Moon a chance in this contest, but when the smoke cleared and the dust settled, Ember Moon stood tall as the new queen of NXT and your new NXT Women's Champion.

#3 Monster-1, Game-0

Braun Strowman has one of the most entertaining Instagram accounts of any WWE Superstar. Following his huge performance at Survivor Series, Strowman took exception to The Game's lack of loyalty to the leader of Team Red, Kurt Angle.

After a brief staredown, Braun Strowman showed Triple H who really had the upper-hand as he laid the bossman out, leaving him staring at the stars at the end of the night.

#2 Started from the bottom

One of the biggest stories from the weekend was the huge championship upset victory that featured Andrade 'Cien' Almas defeating the Scottish slayer Drew McIntyre. Coming into this contest, many fans wrote off Almas as such a tremendous underdog, that Drew may just very well have an easy task on his hands.

However, that would not be the case because Almas was more than ready for the test. In fact, this would go on to become one of, if not THE best match of the evening as NXT crowned a new champion and his name is Andrade 'Cien' Almas.

#1 Remnants from WAR

Over 30 years ago, 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes' dreamchild came to fruition as the very first War Games match took place inside the world famous Omni in Atlanta. What started as simply an idea for a gimmick match would eventually become one of the most notorious structures in wrestling history.

With such a rich history intact, the War Games match once again took centre stage inside of Houston's Toyota Center. The Authors of Pain stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Roderick Strong as they faced off against Eric Young's SAnitY, and The Undisputed Era, which is led by Adam Cole.

When the smoke cleared, there was one team remaining atop the carnage. That team happened to be the new kids on the block, The Undisputed Era.
