If you want to ask a question, you can't be afraid of the answer. That's at least true if CM Punk is the one answering the question. The former WWE Champion made a shocking return to the WWE fold by way of appearing of WWE Backstage on FOX.

While he's affiliated with FOX and not technically WWE, Punk simply can now let everyone know his feelings about various things throughout pro wrestling. He claimed that "if it's good, I'll tell you that and pat you on the back, if it's bad, you'll probably hate me," during an interview with Renee Young.

Punk has been out of the wrestling loop for the last five years due to his departure from WWE in 2014. Because of that elapsed time, wrestling might have changed in many ways. His feelings regarding the sport, however, have not. He quickly said that he thought "wrestling could be so much better, so much more".

He went on to say that "there's a reason why myself, yourself, everyone who puts on a pair of boots fell in love with wrestling." But after professing that we all fell in love with pro wrestling in one way or another, there are still loads of issues with the current state of the industry.

A few things Punk criticized included how he feels that some things are too overproduced and too micromanaged.

He feels that "the best characters that the fans love are the characters that they get to figure stuff out (about) themselves" instead of being told to by other people. The Voice of the Voiceless also commented that he thought that "there's a lot wrong with it (current product) but there are some bright spots."

One big criticism he noted was that everything didn't need to be labeled or attached with a hashtag. There were some instances that impressed Punk, including the talented women currently throughout the WWE as well as a lot of the storylines down in NXT.

Regarding NXT, Punk said that "he knows the struggle (of trying to break in as an independent wrestler)" and that those are the characters "are less tainted like new toys."

A big reason why he agreed to the analyst job on FOX was that "the fans need is someone who doesn't have those ties (to WWE) that can speak (their minds) and not get fired or not get suspended. Here I am."
