#3 Shane McMahon and Elias win under dodgy circumstances

Surely not, right?
Surely not, right?

At last year's Crown Jewel event, the WWE World Cup featured an entire 8-man tournament of singles wrestlers, with the winner being declared the 'Best in the World'. Somehow, Shane McMahon ended up winning the trophy despite not being a part of this tournament. It was a ridiculous moment, one that would eventually lead to the then commissioner's heel turn. Now that they unfurled this travesty on us, why not make it a running gag?

The WWE World Cup might not be taken seriously again after last year, with this year being the test for it. If the match goes on without a hoot, the concept can be salvaged. But there is always the possibility of Shane O'Mac making his grand return to reclaim his status as the 'Best in the Woooooooooorld' (Cheers, Greg).

But he would need a tag team partner. Someone else who has had his back but is now on the shelf - Elias. The Drifter is currently out with an ankle injury but there could be a chance that he returns very soon, as he was selected as a pick during the WWE Draft. It would be typical of WWE if this outrageous development were to happen, to reverse another firing less than a month after it happened.
