Dolph Ziggler recently sat down for an interview and spoke about a host of topics including his new contract with the WWE, the upcoming talent at NXT and more. Below are excerpts from the interview:
On re-signing with the WWE
Dolph says that his contract was coming to an end and he was flooded with options from outside to indulge in other things but chose to stay with the WWE and do what he loves doing best. He states that the WWE gives him a lot of freedom too and he loves working with them.
“WWE has given me an out, where any days off that I have, they allow me to work on outside projects. So it’s a win-win for everybody. I don’t miss any work. I get to keep doing what I love.” he says.
“Just like when it’s SummerSlam week, but I’m going to a comedy club to perform and the next day going to a theater to sneak in a couple of minutes because I don’t sleep and want to be the best performer I can,” added Ziggler.
On NXT
According to Dolph the NXT brand is exploding and he finds it cool that they recently sold out the Barclays Arena, which makes it the best time to be an NXT fan. Dolph says, “To have them in the game is amazing. They were a developmental system in WWE and now are breaking out into their own brand.”
“Now they are in the video game. If that doesn’t make them hungry and want to steal my spot, nothing will. I welcome it. I’m looking forward to it. The more challenges the better. The game is great. NXT is doing great. It’s a lot of fun,” says Dolph who is very happy for them.
On which star he wants to work with from the NXT
Dolph says he really likes the way Tyler Breeze works and would love to have a match with him. “I haven’t seen Tyler Breeze in a little while, but I was watching him. He was on the road with us doing things here and there, doing some live events.”
“He is a good kid. He is a nice guy. He works really hard, and I like the way he works. I would say, Breeze. I like him.” says ‘The Show Off’.
