Elimination Chamber 2019: Top 5 rumors

What could be the scenes at the Elimination Chamber PPV?
What could be the scenes at the Elimination Chamber PPV?

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is just a few hours away, and fan excitement levels for this show is slowly but surely picking up, as this year's pay-per-view doesn't really feel like a foregone conclusion, unlike previous years.

When looking at the match card for this show, it is easy to see why WWE booked some of the programmes with so many possible endings in mind; this show could very well change the foundation of WrestleMania as we know it.

From title matches that seem like they could go either way, to a historic match that could see any team walk away as champions, Elimination Chamber 2019 is truly an ambitious show in the making, and where there is ambiguity, there's someone somewhere with answers.

Most fans don't like to look into rumors due to their inaccuracy most times, and the fact they tend to spoil surprises WWE has planned. But for those who want to get a possible sneak peek of what is going to happen at Elimination Chamber, let us go through some of the most popular rumors that have been circulating the internet.

#1 Kevin Owens And Finn Balor: The best friends

Do you think this would really happen?
Do you think this would really happen?

WWE has really missed a huge opportunity with Kevin Owens over the last few years, as this was a man that burst onto NXT, dominated the competition, arrived on the main roster, and destroyed John Cena in his first match.

Who else has got that type of booking in the last few years? Not many to be honest, and when looking back on KO's five years as a WWE Superstar, it's sad to say, but his career has really been a hit and miss.

From being World Champion at one point to being a literal punching bag, Owens has seen the ups and downs of the wrestling business many times in his WWE career, but according to certain rumors - that bumpy road KO is so used to walking on could end very soon.

At Elimination Chamber we will see Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush take on Finn Balor in an IC Title handicap match, and even though the odds are stacked against Finn, it seems he could get help from an unlikely source. Apparently, it will be KO coming to Balor's aid, and if that sounds weirder than anything you could imagine, don't worry - many others feel the same way.

Babyface Owens sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, as he is such a fantastic heel it's hard to imagine him as anything else, but if WWE keeps one important trait from his heel run, there could be a chance for this to succeed, and that is his logical reasoning.

Speaking of logical reasoning, WWE making KO go after Rush and Lashley is understandable, as his kayfabe reason for taking a hiatus was Lashly destroying him on Raw a few months ago. So with that said, could you see this happening?

#2 Daniel Bryan's crew gets bigger

Is this the perfect way to reintroduce Luke Harper?
Is this the perfect way to reintroduce Luke Harper?

Can you believe at one point Luke Harper was actually considered as the number one contender to Bray Wyatt's WWE Championship at WrestleMania 33? Time flies and things change, as now both these men are currently on WWE's injured list.

But when it comes to Luke Harper, the man has always had something special about him, and most would say it isn't his look or his wrestling ability, but it is his character. It might be a coincidence, but Harper has some shades of Mick Foley in him, as his programme with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton leading up to WrestleMania really showcased him in a different light.

However, WWE squandered the opportunity to make this man a star, as they moved on from that and repackaged Harper and Erick Rowan as The Bludgeon Brothers.

The Bludgeon Brothers was a successful team, as WWE made Harper and Rowan into the unbeatable forces they should have been all along, but after an injury caused the team to drop the tag team titles, Harper has been sitting on the sidelines, and Rowan has become a follower of Daniel Bryan.

Now it seems Harper could become Bryan's next follower, as rumors suggest he will make his return at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. This sounds like a rumor that is plausible enough because WWE would consider something like this, and Harper and Rowan being Bryan's enforcers seems like a good idea in the long run.

#3 No title changes

Another month of Lashley?
Another month of Lashley?

Ah, Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush, whether WWE made this pairing by accident or they had this planned from the get-go, credit needs to be given to the creative team for making Rush Lashley's mouthpiece.

While many find Rush's antics annoying, extremely irritating, and channel changing at times, that is exactly what WWE wants us to feel, as the hype man is doing his job right, and it seems like we could be hearing more of Rush's bragging about his client's title reign.

According to a recent rumor, it seems like none of the titles on the Elimination Chamber match card would change hands, as there are five title matches on the show excluding the inaugural women's tag team titles match. Out of all, which would you really think will get new title holders?

Buddy Murphy defends his Cruiserweight Title against Akira Tozawa, Ronda Rousey faces the challenge of Ruby Riott, Shane McMahon and The Miz will try to fend off The Usos, and Daniel Bryan will take on five other superstars in the Elimination Chamber.

Now it seems likely that all of those matches could have ambiguous endings if you want to be neutral about things. But if we are honest, there is no way Buddy Murphy is dropping his title, Ronda Rousey retraining will be the obvious choice made by WWE, and after Jimmy Uso's altercation with the law, it seems his chances of becoming champion are slim.

Daniel Bryan walking into WrestleMania as champion seems like an option worth considering, so all in all this rumor does have some weight to it, what do you think?

#4 Favorites don't prevail

It's just too good to be true
It's just too good to be true

The women's tag team titles will be fought over at the Elimination Chamber by six teams that are probably at the height of their game. And it is actually good that WWE has booked this match now, as fewer superstars in the women's division will be wasted while waiting for a world title shot now that we have another title in the division.

This match will see the teams of Bayley and Sasha Banks vs The Riott Squad vs Tamina and Nia Jax vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs Naomi and Carmella vs The IIconics for the rare opportunity to be called the first ever women's tag team champions.

The writing is on the wall for this one, Bayley and Banks are actually the hot favorites to come away with the win because no one else in this match has been given more spotlight than these two stars over the last few weeks.

Also, it will be a deserved achievement for them to hold the titles, as they paved the way for women's wrestling down in NXT, and made an impact on the main roster as well, but with rumors going around suggesting something else, could we see a swerve?

According to the rumors, WWE could put the belts on a heel tag team, as they want to build a narrative for this new titles as WrestleMania is fast approaching, so does that mean we will see Nia Jax and Tamina or The Riott Squad come away with the gold?

Well, these teams could be perfect foils for whichever babyface team challenges them next. Also, Banks and Bayley don't need the credibility from this win, as they are already megastars.

#5 Bray Wyatt makes his return

Friend or Foe?
Friend or Foe?

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view's biggest match is the WWE Championship match without a doubt, as fans are eager to see who will walk into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion. And to be honest, it's really hard to tell who will really pull this off, as all these superstars are being made to look like winners.

This might be the most stacked Elimination Chamber match in the pay-per-view's history, as we have Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, and Daniel Bryan all in there at the same time, what could go wrong?

Well, nothing by the looks of it, and even though the match has an insane amount of talent, rumors going around that Bray Wyatt could make his comeback to confront Daniel Bryan makes this match much more anticipated.

Wyatt and Bryan have a well-layered history with one another, which saw them as enemies at times and even as partners when Bray seemingly brainwashed Bryan into being his follower. But now the tables have turned, as it is Bryan doing the brainwashing on SmackDown Live.

From getting a follower in Erick Rowan, and maybe another in the rumored Luke Harper, Bryan is building a crew for himself, and if Wyatt makes his return, will he be taking Bryan out and challenging him at WrestleMania, or will we see an alliance between these two eccentric characters?
