Exclusive: Charlotte Flair discusses whether Cena can beat Ric Flair's record, Banks vs. Rousey & more
Last night, I was invited to be part of a global media call featuring Charlotte Flair, ahead of her big Triple Threat match on SmackDown Live, also featuring Becky Lynch and Carmella. While Flair came up short in the contest, she had an impressive showing.
I picked Charlotte Flair's brain about a whole variety of topics in the time that I was allotted. One thing that she's certain about is that the women will main event WrestleMania 35. With that in mind, here is a glimpse of my conversation with her.
Sasha Banks takes on Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble. What do you think of her chances?
Do you think you can become a 16-time Women's Champion, following in your father's footsteps, someday?
Flair: That's not something I think about.
Do you think that John Cena can surpass your father's record someday?
Flair: Yes, I think John Cena is one of the hardest working men in our industry and if anyone wants to achieve what my dad did, it will be him.
What do you think of Carmella's 7-second dance breaks?
Flair: As long as she's not doing it in my ring; when I'm in the ring, it's fine. I'm only worried about what I'm doing. Not what others are doing.
Have you been following what Shayna Baszler has been doing in NXT and how do you rate her chances on the main roster?
Flair: I think Shayna's progressed quickly. I think she's an excellent bad guy. I think she has a lot of grit to her and I think she will do well. I look forward to facing her someday. After I beat her friend.
Be sure to catch Charlotte Flair on SmackDown Live every week only on SONY TEN 1 and SONY TEN 1 HD. Be sure to catch the Royal Rumble on the same channels, later this month too. Do you think Charlotte Flair will be in the WrestleMania 35 main event?
