Since introducing the Wild Card rule, it seems as though WWE has opened a world of new opportunities for its creatives and the superstars involved. This is extremely important in an age where many superstars are extremely demotivated with the way they are being booked, and many are even asking for their release.

With the Money in the Bank pay-per-view not too far away, WWE has a really good chance at hand to make a few shocking bookings that will make things much more interesting for both the brands in the weeks to come.

With continuously flat bookings and many predictable outcomes, WWE needs to step on the gas soon to make their product more fresh and interesting.

In this article, we will look at three interesting steps WWE could take in order to make the event successful and open up a new direction for its top few superstars.

#3 Sami Zayn wins the Money in the Bank ladder match

While the original Money in the Bank ladder match line-up included Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Ali, Finn Bálor, Andrade, and Randy Orton, it was Sami Zayn who challenged Strowman for his spot in the match on this week’s Raw.

Even though The Underdog from The Underground was no match for The Monster Among Men, it was with the unlikely help from Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin that Zayn managed to defeat Strowman.

Now that Zayn has a spot in a match he wasn’t really supposed to be in, it makes things more exciting and the playing field more level with Strowman out.

Almost every superstar in the match has teased becoming the new briefcase holder, but Zayn could surprise everyone by using his heelish tactics and defeating the other seven men to win the money in the bank contract.

#2 Kevin Owens defeats Kofi Kingston

What started off as a friendship soon turned into a bitter rivalry. Vince initially replaced Kofi Kingston with a returning babyface Kevin Owens in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane 2019.

Owens was unsuccessful at beating the champion Daniel Bryan, and Kofi performed his heart out to earn a spot to contend for the championship at WrestleMania 35 where he defied all odds to bag his first world championship.

Kevin Owens later aligned himself with The New Day after Big E suffered an unfortunate injury, but turned on Kofi and Xavier in search of the WWE Championship.

Now the two men will finally meet at Money in the Bank with the title on the line, and Kofi’s fairytale run could well come to an end at the hands of the heelish Kevin Owens.

What’s more is that the Wild Card rule now allows superstars to float through brands, and even at the pay-per-view we could witness Owens receive some help from longtime friend Sami Zayn to win the title.

With the Money in the Bank briefcase in hand, and his longtime friend-and-nemesis Kevin Owens by his side, there is only one thing Zayn can do if Owens wins the championship: turn on him.

After helping Kevin Owens win the title, Zayn could immediately drop him down with an attack and cash his briefcase in. This would allow Zayn and unfair advantage and could well lead to The Underdog from The Underground win his first ever main roster championship.

In an age where AEW is trying to pull some of WWE’s best talent away, WWE would want to put men like Owens and Zayn in the spotlight so they stay motivated to continue with the company.

This could result in an A+ grade booking, and with the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship both on Raw, the Wild Card rule would also be of much more use.

It can also lead to the reignition of the world-famous Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn rivalry, which the fans will never get tired of.
