#2 Kevin Owens defeats Kofi Kingston
What started off as a friendship soon turned into a bitter rivalry. Vince initially replaced Kofi Kingston with a returning babyface Kevin Owens in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane 2019.
Owens was unsuccessful at beating the champion Daniel Bryan, and Kofi performed his heart out to earn a spot to contend for the championship at WrestleMania 35 where he defied all odds to bag his first world championship.
Kevin Owens later aligned himself with The New Day after Big E suffered an unfortunate injury, but turned on Kofi and Xavier in search of the WWE Championship.
Now the two men will finally meet at Money in the Bank with the title on the line, and Kofi’s fairytale run could well come to an end at the hands of the heelish Kevin Owens.
What’s more is that the Wild Card rule now allows superstars to float through brands, and even at the pay-per-view we could witness Owens receive some help from longtime friend Sami Zayn to win the title.
