While the World Cup tournament set to be hosted in Saudi Arabia does have some potential, the Game's involvement could have made this pretty special for the entire WWE Universe.
Considering that the roster is so stacked today, Hunter could have brought some legitimate attention by bringing some of the greatest superstars under one roof for this tournament.
Judging by the roster the company has, eight competitors from both Raw and SmackDown competing in Fatal-4 way matches to advance towards the semi-finals could have been a thing of beauty.
By this, the creative could have been successful in protecting their biggest superstars and could have showcased some fine in-ring action.
With the first round comprising of four fatal-4 way matches, Triple H and Finn Balor qualifying from the red brand, and Rey Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura qualifying from the blue brand could have been incredible.
The finals could have seen Finn Balor going one-on-one against Rey Mysterio, in what could have been a match of the year candidate. The fact that Triple H considers these two as one of the greatest in-ring competitors in the world would have been enough to see them through into the finals of the World Cup.
