Why has Seth Rollins been a top superstar for so long?

Although some fans will point to his talent inside the ring, his ability to have five star matches and his connection with the fans as reasons why, one has to wonder if all that would matter if he wasn't one of Triple H's projects. In fact, if Triple H wasn't backstage politicking for Seth Rollins to be in big matches, what would happen to The Kingslayer?

Of course it's impossible to know exactly where Seth Rollins would be now, especially with all the different variables at play, but one could assume he wouldn't have the accolades he does now. Beyond that, one could also probably assume that he wouldn't be in The Universal title picture heading into WrestleMania 35.

Interestingly enough, there was a rumor going around from Wrestlevotes.com that Vince McMahon's original plan for WrestleMania 35 was for Braun Strowman to defeat Brock Lesnar at The Royal Rumble and then lose to Drew McIntyre for the title at WrestleMania 35. With that being said however, Strowman got in trouble backstage and Triple H was somehow able to convince Vince McMahon to replace Strowman with Rollins, according to Wrestlevotes.com.

In the end, there's nothing wrong with having someone go to bat for you, but there is something wrong with pretending that isn't happening and chalking up a superstar's success to their own god-given ability. Just call it what it is and realize that Rollins is getting a few breaks backstage.
