#1 Repeatedly have him fail to win back The Universal title
WWE knows how to do one thing perfectly when it comes to Finn Balor and that's having him come up short in Universal title matches. Its gotten to the point where its almost cringe worthy and unbearable to watch Balor be put in contention for The Universal title due to the fact that fans know he will come up short in one way or another.

They did it last year when Samoa Joe made Balor submit in a Number one contender's match at Extreme Rules and they did it during The Elimination Chamber match, where they had Bruan Strowman eliminate Balor early on in the match. If nothing else, it's been hard to watch Balor's title pursuits and it's only getting harder as he falls down the card more.
With that being said, Balor is in free fall right now and is losing more and more legitimacy by the second. Hopefully, WWE will be able to counteract that by actually using him more effectively on the main roster, but if he doesn't he will surely ensure his spot as a complete bust in the big leagues.
