Seth Rollins versus Dean Ambrose is a perfect example of how great things are when WWE gets personal.

For one reason or another, WWE has seemingly backed off from making things personal in their storylines. Not only does this sometimes make storylines feel lackluster or that they lack any real reasoning, but it also takes fans out of the experience. If nothing else, WWE is making a mistake by not continuing to make storylines as personal as possible.

For example, WWE had Dean Ambrose betray Seth Rollins the night that Roman Reigns made his leukaemia announcement and although The WWE started to make things personal, they backed off. Of course, some of that probably has to do with Ambrose saying that Reigns deserved his illness, but fans don't realize that the moment served a purpose.

Think about it this way. That statement alone made Ambrose a bigger villain than him turning on Seth Rollins ever could. It also allowed fans to relate to Rollins and get behind him in his fight against Ambrose. Unfortunately for fans, WWE pumped the brakes on this after receiving backlash for the move, which only served to take away the storyline purpose.

In the end, when WWE starting backing off, it completely took away from the steam the feud was building. It also kind of made the story inconsistent, especially since Ambrose quickly changed his reasoning for the original betrayal, which only served to make the storyline that much harder to really get behind.
