WWE News: Paige suspended for violating WWE's Wellness Policy

Paige is a 2 time Divas Champion

Earlier today, WWE confirmed the suspension of former World Champion Alberto Del Rio. Due to violating the company’s talent Wellness Policy for the first time, Del Rio was penalised with a 30 day suspension.

Few hours ago, WWE announced yet another suspension for the same reason. This time, it is the former 2 time Divas Champion, Paige. WWE issued the following statement regarding her suspension :

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

Paige was drafted to RAW during the recent WWE Draft. Her last appearance dates back to June, when she teamed up with Sasha Banks against the team of Dana Brooke and Charlotte, who was the WWE Women’s Champion at that time.

Since then, Paige has been on a hiatus from the main roster to recover from a shoulder and back injury.

Due to this injury, she was pulled out from WWE’s Australia and New Zealand tour. But, there were several reports stating that she had personal issues with the company and was being punished for the same.

It was eventually revealed that Paige was re-evaluted by the WWE doctors and she may be out for a longer period.

Although her shoulder injury is not that severe, she might be suffering from serious nerve issues due to the neck injury. In the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, her injury was compared to that of Daniel Bryan, which kept the former World Champion out of action for more than year.

Paige, who also celebrates her 24th Birthday today, has allegedly not been impressed with the way she was booked recently.

The first ever NXT Women’s Champion has been lost in the shuffle due to the ‘Divas Revolution’ and Creative failed to provide her with an interesting storyline as well. There were also murmurs which indicated that the Diva was upset with the Draft because she got separated from her boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio.

There was talk of backstage heat that resulted from this situation, as she felt that WWE had intentionally separated them.

Ironically, she gets suspended on the same day as Del Rio, and on her birthday too.

Indicative much?
