'Anti-Diva' Paige is one of the front-runners of WWE's Divas Revolution. To be frank, Paige, along with former wrestler AJ Lee, was shouldering the entire weight of the Divas division during 2014-2015. But lately, WWE seems to be keeping Paige out of the picture for no apparent reason.
With the influx of talented wrestlers from NXT and limited air-time for the Women's division, WWE has left much (or should I say all) of the talented veterans hanging. Unfortunately for Paige, a twelve year veteran in wrestling industry, she has also been included in that list.
Paige captured the hearts of millions of fans when she catapulted to the top by conquering the Divas title on her debut. Her eccentric behavior and English accent has stole the hearts of millions of fans. With a scream like banshee, and a very arrogant in-ring attitude, she has all the marks to become a top quality heel the Women's division needs.
But with the arrival of Sasha Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch, she has been pushed to the back of the line. She has been handed the job of gloried jobber and has been left to put over some of the lesser talented divas. Of late, even Paige is unsure with her role in WWE.
In her recent interview during an appearance at Wizard World Madison on Sunday, she has stated that she is unsure regarding how WWE is going to use her character. She even went as far as to comment that she has no idea on whether she would be scheduled for this week's Raw.
It is not only Paige who is unsure how WWE is going to use her character. Wade Barrett and Bray Wyatt have expressed their dissappointment with WWE Creative openly. It is also rumoured that few of the former NXT members are also unsure on how WWE Creative is planning to use their characters in main roster.
And The Prince of Cuteville's impressive losing streak(!) has also raised some concerns. This mishandling of talents has become a source of disgruntlement for the NXT stars waiting for the call up to the main roster. They are reported to be reluctant to debut to the main roster!!!
It is disheartening to see WWE waste talents like Paige. There are numerous ways to put a wrestler of Paige's talent to use. WWE Creative needs to stop pushing lesser talented wrestlers like Summer Rae and Lana to the forefront and give talented superstars like Paige a good shot to showcase themselves.
