Former TNA X Division champion released

No more Manik in TNA

– TNA had a masked wrestler gimmick which was portrayed by a number of their roster members. Stars such as Christopher Daniels, Austin Aries and Frankie Kazarian among others took the role of Suicide who was a mysterious masked grappler.

After a few years and a lengthy layoff, the gimmick was brought back to life by wrestler TJ Perkins. Perkins tweaked the name and the costume a bit and called himself Manik, even winning the X Division Championship once and has been a mainstay for the last few years.

Perkins recently noted that his contract had not been renewed by TNA. It looks to be seen why TNA took this decision but it would be a definite loss for the company which has already seen a lot of superstars leaving.

Perkins also stated that he would have loved to stay with the company but it is no longer in his hands. He also added that what the bosses want and what the fans want is a totally different thing.
