CM Punk could reunite with a former WWE Tag Team Champion after 14 years. The Second City Saint was last seen on the RAW after Bad Blood where he revealed he was taking time off and wasn't sure when he would come back.
The former WWE Champion could return on RAW very soon and with some backup. That backup could be in the form of former Tag Team Champion Luke Gallows.
Across various interviews, CM Punk has stated his body physically can't do what it used to a decade ago. This could be the reason, he could bring in Gallows as his backup. The former Tag Team Champion was out with an injury and could return with Punk for a Straight Edge Society reunion.
SES was a cult-like faction that used to believe in purity and clean living. Along with Punk and Gallows Serena and Joey Mercury were also part of the group. SES had some notable rivalries with the likes of Rey Mysterio and Big Show in the 2010s.
Another reason could be, that AJ Styles and Michin from The O.C. have gone their separate ways. Karl Anderson is injured too and there is nothing much happening for Luke Gallows. This could allow CM Punk to bring him onto his side as a backup.
For Punk to have Gallows by his side is very important. Monday Night RAW has become a wild jungle with blindsided attacks and brawls happening all the time. The former WWE Champion will need some backup to save him from serious beatings.
Netflix wants CM Punk for the premier episode of RAW on its platform
January 6th is a big day for the WWE, with its flagship show Monday Night RAW premiering on Netflix. The company is trying to make the episode as big as possible. They are also reportedly bringing in all their biggest stars.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Netflix has demanded three superstars for its premier show. Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk.
Getting CM Punk for the premier edition should not be a problem. The Second City Saint is assigned to the RAW roster as per the latest draft. However, WWE will have to craft a well-thought plan to bring Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to the red show, given that they are SmackDown Superstars.
The interesting thing is to see what storyline line will The Best in the World be a part of. There are currently two interesting angles Punk can explore. One is with Gunther in his quest to become the World Heavyweight Champion. The other one is his story with Seth Rollins. It is no secret that both superstars are not the best of friends in real life. This feud could also potentially top the one between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk.
