TNA Rumours: Former WWE Superstar Alex Riley joining TNA soon?

Alex Riley
Will we see him in a six-sided ring soon?

WrestlingInc is reporting that former WWE superstar Alex Riley has recently started following 3 of TNA’s top officials including TNA President Dixie Carter, Executives John Gaburick and Bob Ryder. This could possibly be a sign of him joining TNA roster soon.

It won't be a big surprise if this happens as TNA President Dixie Carter is fond of hiring former WWE talents that part way with the company. Now, as TNA has found their new minority owner, they must be looking for some new stars to fulfill the space on their roster and increase the star power.

However, it’s hard to say that TNA will get any benefit from hiring the former NXT rookie as Alex wasn't featured on WWE programming for a long time even before his WWE release. So he’ll hardly bring any star power to bring to the table.

It's notable that Riley was one of the 8 superstars released by WWE last month. Other names in the list included fan favorites like Wade Barrett and Damien Sandow.

Riley joined WWE back in 2007 but spent the next 3 years on Florida Championship Wrestling before becoming a part of the original NXT roster where he was under the on-screen mentorship of current IC Champion The Miz.

He also tried his hand on commentary for a brief period of time when he was a part of Superstar's commentary team before finally being released by WWE.
