What's the story?

PWInsider has recently reported that Impact Wrestling are interested in re-signing one of their former superstars and one of the current hottest Indy Wrestling stars, Brian Cage.

In case you didn't know...

Brian Cage is one of the agilest big men in the current pro wrestling world. The 6ft, 265-pound monster is one of the biggest stars in the current independent wrestling scene and is best known for his work for American indy promotion, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, where he has been performing for almost seven years.

The 33-year-old has also previously worked under Impact Wrestling between 2012 and 2014. In 2012, Cage made his debut for Impact in a dark match against Robbie E and in the following year, he wrestled another tryout match for the company when he faced off in a match against Jay Bradley. Cage failed to win either of his two matches with Impact Wrestling back in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, he returned to the Impact Zone to compete in one more match when he stepped into the ring with current Los Ingobernables member, Sanada, and former Impact star, Crazzy Steve.

The heart of the matter

PWInsider have reported that Impact Wrestling is now looking forward to offering a permanent contract to current Lucha Underground star Brian Cage on a contractual basis.

With Lucha Underground set to return for the fourth season, Cage is yet to announce if he will return to the Mexican promotion for their upcoming season.

In May of 2017, Cage also made his debut for top Japanese Wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH -- who currently have a tie-up with Impact Wrestling.

What's next?

Brian Cage currently continues to work for various Independent promotions and the news of him signing with Impact is yet to be confirmed. Cage is also under a contract with another Mexican promotion, Lucha Libre AAA, who also have a working relationship with Impact Wrestling.

Author's take

Impact Wrestling have faced several issues lately but adding talented performers like Cage would do the promotion a world of good.
