What's the story?

During the most recent Impact Wrestling tapings it seems that the rumours of Bobby Lashley leaving the company may have been correct, as the former WWE Superstar appeared to say goodbye to the crowd and walk away.

In case you didn't know...

Top Impact Stars Bobby Lashley and EC3 had been the subject of rumours for a while. It had been speculated that both men were leaving the company around the start of 2018, and that seems to have been proven to be the case.

EC3 departed the company at the set of matches taped the night before Lashley's apparent departure after taking part in a 'Feast or Fired' match which consists of four briefcases hanging above the ring, three containing title shots, and one containing a pink slip which is the one that EC3 managed to get, effectively firing him from Impact.

The heart of the matter

Jacob Cohen, who has been at most of the Impact Wrestling tapings over the last few days has been keeping people up to date about what's happening on Twitter, and tweeted the following thing concerning Bobby Lashley.

As you can see Bobby Lashley says goodbye and takes a bow in front of the Impact audience, suggesting that he is joining the likes of Rockstar Spud and James Storm in leaving the company. This came about because Lashley lost a match to new Impact signing Brian Cage.

What's next?

I think we all know what's next... months of speculation that Bobby Lashley will be returning to the WWE to go alongside speculation that EC3 will be returning to WWE and that James Storm will be going back to WWE after that one NXT appearance and ... you get the gist.

Author's take

If this is actually Lashley's departure from the company, and not just a swerve it truly is a sad day for Impact Wrestling as he's been one of their top stars for quite some time, and one of their better world champions.
