From the Rumor Mill: Chris Jericho WWE return date confirmed?

What's the story?

As per Inside The Ropes, it looks like Chris Jericho will be returning to WWE in or before the month of May.

The news is issued as it's been revealed that Jericho's upcoming one-man show tour of the UK has been postponed due to WWE scheduling conflicts.

In case you didn't know...

Jericho teased a return last night but is currently on tour with Fozzy along with Steel Panther and was actually in Paris last night - quite a bit away from Philadelphia, where the Royal Rumble was being held. But we may not have to wait much longer to see Jericho back in WWE.

The heart of the matter

Y2J was scheduled for a meet and greet question and answer tour in the UK for May. But the company that booked the shows have now confirmed that they are in talks with WWE about rescheduling the dates to accommodate Jericho’s WWE return.

Inside The Ropes had announced Jericho at the turn of the year via some teaser photos having previously hosted evenings with Y2J himself, Shawn Michaels, Sting, Goldberg, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Paul Heyman and many others.

While they hadn't officially announced Jericho, they now have in the rescheduling announcement.

ITR has been hyping the return of Jericho for the past month, referencing his 2009 return.

However, they had been replying with even less subtle hints at the tour.

..in which Jericho was scheduled to return to the UK this year for having visited Dublin and Belfast last year.

What's next?

Well, we already know (or do we?) that Chris Jericho won't be at WrestleMania as he's booked to play for Fozzy that night. But you never really know.

The original dates for Jericho's Inside The Ropes tour were slated for May, so it would look as though 'The Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla' will be on his way back to WWE sometime in April.

Author's take

Well, we knew it wouldn't be too long before Chris Jericho would be back but, given the fact we think he'll be going up against Naito in NJPW and that he's touring with Fozzy, it didn't seem imminent.

Chris Jericho appeared at Raw 25 with Elias even wearing a shirt promoting his previous match with Kenny Omega in NJPW, but it looks like he'll be back just after WrestleMania.

The return of Jericho. We can't wait, maaaaaaaan!
